Kicks Cafe — Restaurant in Halifax

Good little place to get a hot tea or coffee - not 70 types, probably one - and a muffin or cookie. (It does have a good selection of hot and cold beverages and food, including ice cream.) Its strength is that it is close to the nearby Clayton Park West High and especially Bella Rose Arts Centre, so on an intermission from there when the cafeteria is closed especially on the weekend - open 'til 11 p.m.! - it's barely a five-minute walk for something hot and sweet. Good seating, about 10 tables, a TV with video games, and an excellent view so you can have a relaxing moment before shuttling the kids around for the next show or soccer match or whatever dozen things in the kids' schedule. The atmosphere is cozy, and the coffee is really delicious. I was especially impressed by the friendliness of the staff. I plan to visit often...
