Unfortunately there isn't much good to say about this McDonald's. Where to begin?
Having worked at a franchise personally and being a frequent customer I can say confidently they consistently have the worst counter staff of all the franchises in Nova Scotia. Pretty much anyone you find taking an order on the cash who isn't a manager/runner just filling in because the line has backed up will be an immigrant who has poor grasp of the most basic concepts on the till, the menu, and unfortunately the English language. Now don't get me wrong I'm not blaming these workers, they are being undertrained and thrown into a role they cannot effectively manage (IMO).
The store itself is usually about 4/10 on the cleanliness scale and this McDonald's restaurant is one of the biggest examples of time of day=quality of service. On mornings through 4pm during the week you can expect to find the seasoned workers and managers and I cannot say they provide service subpar to what you might expect from any other McDonald's (again minus the clean factor). As for late-nights and weekends you can expect a steady wait time where your annoyance for the delay only builds as the level of activity in the store usually doesn't correlate with the wait times (again having worked at a McDonald's in high school I can accurately identify when a store is actually swamped and struggling).
This is a phenomenon you can experience for yourself if you come into this store anytime after 11pm. Once the graveyard shift of workers comes online and everyone else has gone home you can come to expect the counters and tables to filthy with trash and spilled drinks. Oh you'd like salt or straws? Good luck finding any condiments in the barren wasteland they call a condiment station. Hell even trying to ask an employee for these things after I can't locate them is even a struggle.
Food quality is OK. I've had everything from fresh and fantastic to straight out my window onto quinpool. Sticking with the theme of this review you could guess for the most part you're going to receive the latter unless to come to the store at one of the aforementioned "good" times. Overall it's gamble like most fast food, although, if you come after midnight for a large fries I'd bet the remainder of my student loan balence on them being colder than my ex.
Lack of DIY drink station in the lobby is baffling, no trays available past midnight, and no Kiosks.
The only reason this store receives anything above one star is that 20%~ of the time I receive good food without a long wait. And just for fun check out the mutated waste they called an Angus sandwich the last time a friend and I visited the store. PS.....he asked for...
Read moreI do not normally post bad reviews but I'm over this location.
Let's start with tonight. I ordered 2 Mcflurrys one with a shot of caramel( which I gladly paid the extra for) and a large fries.
When the guy at the window handed me the flurrys, I noticed one was half full. I looked up and the guy was still there. He had a look on his face like "I know what you are about to say". I kindly asked him to top it off and he did.
When I arrived home I pulled out my fries with excitement. I pulled out a few and took a bite, one was fresh and the others were old as can be. It was like this throughout the box. I ate my mix of stale and fresh fries then moved on to my Mcflurry. As I was eating it I realized there was almost no caramel. A little on the lid and some on the spoon. Nothing really in the ice cream. I get this all the time so no it didn't mix in so much that I just didn't notice( just like the oreo bits as it was mostly small dust like pieces). My best guess the pump was almost empty. Wouldn't be an issue if the caramel was free but I paid for it.
That was just one night. I'll give a summary of most other trips to this location.
I order a coffee and a muffin every day. Most days the coffee is fine. Never taste the same 2 days in a row lol but that's fine. The muffin is the real issue.
I order a banana chocolate muffin every day, man I love them. This location 3 out of 5 times will not have them as advertised. Wouldn't be so bad if I didnt wait 3-7 minutes in there drive thru lane or if they told me before I paid. Everytime this happens I tell then I'll take a refund and to keep the coffee. I go to the Mumford location, out of my way but always on point. One time the manager at quinpool looked at me and said "why don't you just ask if we have this product before ordering". I dont know.... not my job... you should have the food you advertise... I dont know.
When they do have it, it's not the same as the rest. Sometimes it's small and hard like it's been freezer burnt before cooking. Other times is just dry like it's over cooked. Maybe because they use the 30 year old pizza ovens instead of the proper ovens.
I dont often get other food there but when I do it's usually missing seasoning on the burger or the fries. Just all around bland or cold.
Let's talk about the cosmetics and cleanliness of the place. It is old and falling apart. Hasn't been update since I was a kid. It has broken, dented, and chipped everything. If you look closely the place is disgusting and that's all I'll say about this.
I know ppl, I should go elsewhere.... this place is just close to home.
Guys it's time to start fresh... move across the street...
Read moreThis McDonald's, for the most part, is great, most of the employees are nice and friendly and the place is kept pretty clean considering how busy they are at times.
However, yesterday I encountered the most ignorant McDonald's manager I've ever spoke to. She was so rude that when I was simply explaining something she kept cutting me off and speaking over me and when I asked her to let me speak she got mad and started arguing instead of simply listening to what I was trying to say. On top of that, she told me that she doesn't think she was being rude by interrupting me and speaking over me?
I can't believe that a McDonald's manager in this day and age is that rude towards customers
One week after being treated like garbage by one manager and now today another manager laughed at me because I said I have a medical condition? Wow this McDonald's is an absolute disgrace. I have the manager laughing at me for having a medical condition on camera and will be uploading to social media for exposure
I was in the washroom for less than 2 minutes and the manager was banging on the door demanding that I leave and when I asked about that he said he thought it was someone else and DIDNT EVEN OFFER AN APOLOGY? this McDonald's is hands down the most disgraceful...
