I've been to Rinaldo's now a few times. Most times it's been really good! Unfortunately, this time was a bit disappointing in terms of one plate, which was the Lobster Ravioli. I found it to be very pricey! The ravioli was homemade and very good, but quickly got overshadowed by the lack of filing and taste inside. $32 dollars+tax for 5 ravioli's seems way overpriced. The sauce over the ravioli was really good as well, just sad when the star of your dish is the actual pasta instead of the expensive lobster filing. The Meatball hero was a 10/10! Highly recommend this sandwich! It was everything and more for $15. $6 for a ceaser salad seemed steep, but it was a great compliment to the sandwich and had lots of bacon, which justified the price to me, (unlike the ravioli). If this review was based solely on this dish, it would have received 5 stars. Unfortunately, the ravioli/service took away from the overall value/atmosphere of the meal. The service to me was quite poor. Once we were seated, it took almost 20 minutes to be approached despite being passed multiple times. We tried closing our menus in front of us, placing the closed menus at the start of the table, we emptied the water glasses, and nothing seemed to work. I was talking about leaving the restaurant as it didn't seem like we mattered. The restaurant was steady at best with a few bigger groups but there were still lots of empty tables and the restaurant itself is very small. When they came by for a "courtesy check," I brought up the portion and asked if this was usual or if maybe there was a mistake? They told us it's usually a smaller dish as everything is homemade, but he would go check with the kitchen and get back to us.... this never happened, not even when he gave us the bill. It was swept under the rug. I wish when ordering that this was brought to our attention. I don't mind paying for quality, but it needs to be worth it. This missed the mark on multiple fronts and wouldn't recommend it with our experience.

Friend and I came in for brunch around 2pm on a Sunday. We we're given a friendly greeting and my friend asked about a fruit like bowl by the front bar. Waitress told us about it and we ordered some, and it was very light and refreshing. I ordered the benny, since the Philly steak sandwich was a special, they don't always have. My friend ordered a full breakfast of sausage, eggs, toast, beans and other stuff. The place was going steady, for a late Sunday brunch, and we waited maybe 30 minutes or more before we began to wonder. My friend checked in and they said it takes about 30-40 minutes; I guess they just have the one cook on some quieter days, and it has to do with different food components and how it's cooked up. Must take longer that way with one person. So while you can be waiting a fair while, the food is often amazing. My roast potatoes were so hot I had to let them cool. The hollandaise sauce was very nice. My friends sausage had a very fresh fennel flavor that made her happy right away. I would recommend this place, as the food is always amazing. *** Updating my most recent visit, Sunday Jan 28th. The Elvis was very good, with an amazing peanut butter mouse! The bacon was very crispy. If I got it again I'd ask for softer cooked bacon. But quite a treat, and so was the nutella Italian style doughnut. The server so super friendly!

Went here for a dinner with a friend on a weekday and it did get quite busy. Fortunately we had made a prior reservation online. Our server Aastha was super nice and suggested us one of the available beers to start. It was really great and quite strong! We then proceeded to have the Spicy Cauliflower and the Italian Fries. Both of which were good and the fires came with Garlic Mayo. The spicy cauliflower was nothing like the kind I’ve had so far in Halifax and easily sits at the top of my list. That’s something I know I’ll order every time I go back here. For the mains, we ordered a Cheese Detroit Deep Dish Pizza with few custom toppings. It was really great. The cheese was fresh and the entire base was quite fluffy. It did take them quite a while to get this out but no compromises on the taste front. We also got a Strawberry Shortcake for dessert and my goodness it was heavenly.

Well, to say this place was a disappointment would be an understatement. I've been following Rinaldo's on social media for a long time. I don't live in the area, so I never got around to going until tonight. From start to finish, this experience was awful.

We were a table of 3, excited to enjoy a nice atmosphere and good food. We had reservations, so when we arrived we did not expect to wait 10 minutes to even be acknowledged. When someone finally looked at us standing there, we were hesitantly sat at the world's most wobbly table. So much so, that any small movements would spill our drinks.

We asked to be seated elsewhere when we saw another party had left. The server brought water over, and we asked for 3 sodas. 15 mins later, our drinks arrived and we were able to order our meals. We placed our order, and 1 hour and 15 mins later our food finally arrived. In that time, we had finished all our waters, and sodas. The server walked by our table MULTIPLE times and didn't offer any drinks, nor acknowledged our existence at all.

Garlic fingers were ice cold. One chicken sandwich was hot, the other was lukewarm at best. As far as taste goes, all the food was just okay. Definitely NOT worth an hour and 15 min wait.

The awful and rude service was what truly ruined this experience. This was the worst service that any of us have ever experienced. Our server was rude, inattentive, and seemed overall miserable. Really disappointed all around, and we could not wait to leave. Delicious looking food pictures on social media is not a reflection of the experience we had. Will not...

My partner and I tried this place several times. We went there when it first opened and experienced rude service. My order was incorrect and I politely explained what I had actually ordered. The waitress insisted several times that I should take what she brought anyway! Her explanation was that they had not started their dinner menu when I ordered and I was brought a similar item from the lunch menu. Keep in mind this was never explained beforehand and that I ordered literally minutes before their scheduled dinner menu. I did become irritated because of her insistence that I had to take the food she brought. The manager did apologize when I complained and I did not have to pay for my drink but I refused to order a meal and left. We did give it a chance as thought that maybe staff were overwhelmed in the context of it being newly opened. We went back two other times and experienced continued bad service each time. Not only was it slow but we were ignored and served way later than than other people who came in after us. My impression was that the staff more so valued their more hipster and younger clientele. I say this especially because on the third and last try (we have a three strike rule if the food is good) we did see people who were treated similar to us and they did not match the clientele who were being favoured. They actually got up and left which we should have done. We eat out a lot and tip well as we appreciate good service. We will never go back...
