I was here a few months ago with my family and we absolutely loved it. The food is just amazing, never had a better falafel wrap. My sister was visiting Halifax again so my mom suggested we go back there before she travelled back home. We made 2 orders for our table. The first order came very quickly. The second one (which had to-go items on it as well as dine-in items) took almost 30 minutes longer than the first one. My family members were completely done eating before my mom or I even got our food. I noticed the staff were preparing the to-go items before even starting our dine-in order. I went up to ask about this and it seemed like the staff maybe forgot about the dine-in items? Otherwise I’m not sure why you would make people wait so long…? Then about 5 minutes later we received our wraps, I opened mine and was about to take a bite (I touched the bread) and realized they made the wrong one (I was given a turkey wrap but ordered the tuna one). I went up and let them know but also told them that I already touched this turkey wrap. The staff still took it back (this seemed sort of concerning to me, what are you going to do with a wrap that a customer already touched? I wouldn’t want to eat that if someone else who I didn’t know had already touched it…) and when I asked how long it would be for my tuna wrap they said it would only take 2-3 minutes. I’m sorry but why were we waiting 35 minutes for our order, then? I also ordered the 3 mezza dishes to go. Each one is $9.99 and says it comes with bread but if you order 3 of them they give you a small discount (I believe $26.99 or so). When I got home and opened my order, they only gave me one piece of pita bread with my 3 mezza. It doesn’t state in the menu that you only get 1 piece of bread per three mezza order… I would have rather paid the $9.99 each then, and received the proper amount of bread for my order. In addition, the portion sizes were extremely small. It was a bit of a disappointing visit overall, and my mom who suggested to go back there initially doesn’t want to return due to the excessive wait and the service level. I will give them the credit on the food though, absolutely delicious. Just think the service level could be improved and perhaps the clarity of the menu itself. Staff were friendly...
Read moreIf you frequent Starbucks or Tims it's time to get some goddamn Tea for your turtle because this place is amazing and I NEED you to know about it, so LISTEN GOOD.
For 8.99 you will have bar none, the absolute greatest farmer's wrap your little mind can fathom. It will blow away your senses, it's twice the size of a Tims or Starbucks wrap, the bread is fluffy, steaming hot and baked in house with fresh eggs, cheese, and I think some kind of peppers? you have no idea. It's SO GOOD. Your tastebuds will go on a cosmic journey of realization of what good food actually tastes like.
Now, what is Tea for turtle? It's a relatively new little spot that you'd think was just a Tea shop, but actually serves a fair bit of middle eastern food and salads as well. I want to say that I've eaten wraps from a lot of middle eastern places in the city via doordash/uber eats and nothing came CLOSE to how incredible the food was here. Like if you're reading this, and you're close, like stop reading here and just go take a visit or order in. It's so worth it.
The inside of this place as you can see in their photos is very clean and nice, the owner was beyond friendly and seems like a really wholesome guy with a passion for good food and bringing it to our community. Most notably it seems everything that can be made fresh like their breads is all done in house, while either a portion or maybe all of their herbs and spices are GROWN in store via hydroponics! Those hanging vines you see next to your chair? that's not decoration, that's fresh produce, and that's INCREDIBLY COOL.
If you read this far, I want to stress how badly you need to check this place out. Don't be scared to break your routine, don't be afraid to try something new, most of the coffee and lattes you're familiar with at other coffee shops are here too, but with no corporate greed or cut corners, just genuine amazing food and drinks,...
Read moreThis is my absolute favourite place to go. I get the Falafel with fresh baked bread and My girlfriend gets the hummus with fresh baked bread or crispy pita chips and it is PERFECT every single time. We like to share our food and everything we have tried has been amazing. This place has THE BEST falafel of any I have tried. The atmosphere is so welcoming and lovely. Everyone who works here is incredibly kind. There’s one main cashier(I think, because they are there every time I go) and they really make my day. They are so wonderful and kind and always quick to compliment you or remember your face. This is a favourite for my girlfriend and I and I couldn’t possibly love it any more. It is very affordable, and they do everything they can to make you feel comfortable and welcome. I struggle to order my stuff, but they’re always patient and very understanding. I love seeing all of the plants in here as well. They take excellent care of the shop and keep it very very clean and pleasant. Thank you for everything you all...
