We entered the restaurant on a Monday evening and greeted by the pleasant server who seated us immediately. The menu was very laid out, so it made it much easier to identify what exactly we wanted. For a starter we ordered the lentil soup, which honestly was not what we were expecting. The colour was nice and vibrant, but the whole thing was a puree, We were expecting to see the shape of the lentils. The flavour was on the bland side, when I was expecting some punch! On the plus side, we also ordered veg samosa's which were very well made. You could taste it and tell that it was made in house, the pastry was flaky and the filling had great flavour. They came with a side of a mint yogurt dip, which had a nice mild kick to it. Honestly, I love my spice so it was a nice surprise.

Are you curious about our main? Well we ordered the channa, which is a chickpea curry with some garlic naan. Honestly, it was like a great homemade curry, the layers of flavour was perfect. You could taste the cumin, cinnamon, cardamom, tomato tanginess, hints of tamarind, yes, they were all there!

The naan was exceptional! Flaky and doughy, with a mild garlic flavour and a light teasing of butter over the top, delicious!

Atmosphere wise, the restaurant was well lit and had beautiful murals of peacocks on the different walls, very inviting and cozy.

Overall, great experience! We will be going back to try a few more curries to make a solid critique, plainly put, yes, we...

My friend and I were looking for a new place to try and I remembered being told about this one. From walking in it was aesthetically pleasing, small and cozy. The server came to greet us in about two mins. There were only two other people at the time so we had the pick of the place. The server was just right. She checked on us a few times, she was pleasant and sweet and cute as a button. We asked some questions about menu items and how they were served so we would know if we had to order rice separate etc. She was very helpful here and we actually decided to order items she suggested. The food came in order appys very fast, Main about 20 mins later and we enjoyed our meal and didn’t feel rushed. The place picked up quite a bit while we were there with eat in and take out customers. The food was delicious! With an appetizer, one main, rice and naan it was the perfect size for two and a small portion to take home. It burst with flavour, the rice was aromatic, and the chicken was perfectly cooked. We will definitely be back and have already told many friends to check it out! I read some reviews about wait time etc. This is food that is meant to be enjoyed. It takes time to prepare and it should take time to eat. It’s not a fast food restaurant where they make your food as fast as you can eat it. Come to this restaurant and choose a few different menu items and enjoy good food with good friends. Don’t always...

Tried here for lunch on a sunny Thursday in April and luckily got a street parking lot directly in front (1 hour availability so didn't have to pay). We walked in and were greeted immediately by a friendly server who said we could take any table we liked. There were a handful in the room, with I think seating capacity for about 20-24 altogether? (at least now during covid times). We took a three-seater smaller table towards the rear where the lighting is cosier. (lots of natural light coming in at the front but I find that can be too bright sometimes). Nicely decorated, casual atmosphere with colorful walls and two giant painted ceiling mandalas. Glass water bottles left at the table to top yourself up as needed. He took our order within a minute or two and the food took 10-15 minutes to arrive. I got one of their daily specials (chicken saagwala - a little spicy, spinach puree with green chillies and whole spices) which was very good and comes with a side of plain rice. My friend had the Tandoor chicken (13.99) which was 5 drumsticks served on a platter with a small dish of mint sauce, onion & lemon slices, which was good. We split an order of garlic naan to start, which was two giant thick slices, buttery, very good. Overall I'd say this place is pretty comparable to most Indian restaurants in Halifax. We'd come...

Very the worst food ever had in Halifax during our stay. First kind of experience in Canada. We ordered chicken curry, naan, and Momos. The chicken was still frozen and they added some gravy to it I think. the gravy was like no salt in it, felt a little old. Naan was too oily kind. Momos were Spicy since we like spicy foods that are kind of ok for us initially. Since we bought it we start to have that. After having even one naan and a couple of chicken pieces, I was food poisoned I think. We didn't waited to finish even half of what we ordered. And within less than an hour I was throwing up and had a bad stomach. Hoped it will go but suffered for 3 days because of one evening meal. Called the restaurant on Saturday and they were in a no-care attitude. Told me on getting back soon but still waiting for their call. It's such a shame that they haven't told an apology word for what has happened. My weekend got wasted. In the morning I started throwing up 5 times within 3 hours and now after taking medicine I think I am getting better. But this kind of thing is not at all acceptable, that too when we pay the price of their demand. Never choose this if you are looking for good food.

Naan n Curry, located on Quinpool Road, had me excited to try its offerings, but my experience left much to be desired. While I had high hopes for the restaurant, I encountered a few significant disappointments during my visit. The naan bread, a staple at any Indian restaurant, was particularly underwhelming. It was extremely tough and rubbery, making it hard to chew and far from the soft, fluffy texture I had expected. It felt like it had been sitting out for too long or overcooked, which took away from the overall dining experience. The chicken, too, was a letdown. It wasn’t served hot and tasted as though it had been hastily reheated from frozen. The texture and temperature made it hard to enjoy, leaving me questioning its freshness. On a more positive note, the lamb curry was flavorful and well-cooked. The spices were well-balanced, and the tenderness of the lamb was impressive. This dish stood out in contrast to the other offerings and was the redeeming part of the meal. Additionally, parking at the Quinpool location is a challenge. The limited availability of spots made it difficult to find a place nearby, adding a layer of inconvenience to the overall experience.

Alright guys I’ve something really INSANE to tell you about last night. So i was here with my best buddies for my dinner to try some traditional food. Firstly we ordered kothu porotta and he said it takes more-than 1:30 hours to get ready. So we cancelled that order and reordered some kerala porotta with some butter chicken and chicken vindaloo and tandoori chicken. The interesting part is we ordered mixed appetizer and we didn’t get that, but he added that one in the cheque. Anyways we got the good after 30 mins and started eating. Lemme tell you about the food. Butter chicken was so so … and chicken vindaloo was really really baaddd…. Andddd here comes the hero KERALA POROTTA THE SHIELDS 🛡 THE PROTECTOR was insane, tasteless and frozen. Well you should be thinking the customer service is good 😂😂 ooo maaannn he was so rude, not taking care of us, not asking for water or nothing.. I don’t even want to talk about him. Lack of manners Rude discourteous behaviour Lack of knowledge of the product or policy Guys we are your customer and we paying for the food. Please pay ATTENTION FOR THAT!!!! If feel really bad to waste my MONEY 💴
