This is a rare hidden gem in Halifax that so few people know about. A truly authentic Northern Chinese restaurant that does not try to westernize or Canadianize their food with sweet and sour sauces or deep fried items. You must come here with an open mind and an adventurous palate as you are transported to another part of the world with very different flavors that will introduce you to true Chinese cuisine. The food reflects the owner's culture with rare ingredients (such as frog legs) and brave menu choices that are not for those that just want more of the same "Asian" fast food from the food court of a mall. Quality is amazing here with a emphasis on home made taste. All their noodles are made in house by hand, soups are made from scratch as are all their seasonings. If you want to play it safe and just want to "test the waters" before you dive in try their Special Beef Noodle Soup without spiciness and you can taste the effort that they put into their food preparation. Beef cooked to perfection with creamy quail eggs and a shopping list of different spices that give the soup a very complex and delicious flavor, and the noodles perfectly cooked to be just chewy enough to give them an "Al dente" texture. A must try. Everything on the menu is delicious and authentic. Don't miss an opportunity to try this place and don't be afraid to try something new. It may not be the prettiest place but the staff are...
Read moreIm an Indian and I recently visited and it was an incredible dining experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with elegant décor that perfectly blended traditional Chinese aesthetics with a modern touch.
The menu offered an impressive variety of dishes, each thoughtfully prepared and bursting with flavor. The soup was another standout, showcasing the chef's mastery of authentic Chinese cuisine.
The staff were exceptionally attentive and friendly, ensuring that our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable. They were happy to make recommendations and were knowledgeable about the dishes, which added a personal touch.
What impressed me the most was the presentation of the food—it was almost too beautiful to eat! The portions were generous, and the pricing was very reasonable for the quality of the meal.
Whether you're a fan of Chinese cuisine or new to it. I can't wait to return and try more dishes from their extensive menu. Highly...
Read moreFood was delicious (definitely get skewers with a cold beer) but service was so slow. There is only 7 4-seaters and 1 private room. We went on a Sunday night and they were busy. They forgot our dishes and drinks but were very friendly. Their food is not the normal Cantonese/North American style Chinese food. We had pork trotter (foot), lamb skewers, spam skewers and grilled corn. We also ordered a beef noodle soup (big bowl of noodles), cold tendons (yummy), garlic greens and sweet and sour pork slices (basically battered pork slices in a vinegar + sugar coating). Very cozy inside, friendly service but servers might be forgetful (felt a...
