Overall, great place for students to hang out and enjoy a quick snack between classes. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the drinks are excellent. More specifically, I would recommend their Italian Soda, matcha lattes, bagels and cookies. The cookies are huge for their price and always satisfy a sweet tooth. The bagels are from Izzy’s Bagel Co. and are delicious. The Italian Soda and matcha lattes are both great pick-me ups throughout the day. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because some of the foods are hit or miss and the cafe is typically bustling. The brownies are not great and neither are the oatcakes, and it can be extremely difficult to find a place to sit during the lunch rush. However, if you stick with their signature foods and are only intending to drop in quickly to pick up your food/drink, you’ll be sure to enjoy your visit.

Lovely design and ambience, looks like a fun place to get things done. Nice trinkets and coffee accessories as well as bulk fair trade beans. The art on the walls is very modern and contemporary and there's some comfy places to sit, although they are limited on electric outlets unfortunately. I have yet to try a lot of the things on their menu but the iced coffee I ordered came out pretty warm (no ice) and very weak. I had to get them to add more espresso and ice after drinking some of the half warm stuff down, but it still tasted very watery. Maybe I'll try some of their other products some time.

Loved the place! Great atmosphere for reading or studying or gathering with friends or just spending a relaxing time. Variety of coffee options, snacks, and lunch. It’s family friendly and accessible. The main door is not accessible with few steps to enter. However, there is an accessible door on the side with accessible washroom.

Food and coffee are great, however the service is not the best. You don’t get greeted as you enter (even if you’re the only person at the cash), and you feel awkward as you’re interrupting the employee’s conversation. After being rung through, the employees will continue their conversation extremely loudly - I personally find it unprofessional and it creates a negative and unwelcoming environment. Of course during work employees speak to each other, but having them speak extremely loudly is one thing, but it also decreases their productivity as I am waiting 15 minutes for a single coffee.

As a suggestion, maybe hire one more employee up front so there’s one employee at the cash, one making drinks and one preparing food. The current system is inefficient and in my opinion, takes way too long to receive...

I love visiting Uncommon Grounds through the work week, but have noticed a huge discrepancy in the timeliness and quality of service when you go on the weekend. As a customer, I don't feel the best when I have to awkwardly stand and wait for employees to finish the loose ends of their conversation before they take my order, or even say hello. It creates an unwelcoming atmosphere when you walk into a place of business and don't receive any form of acknowledgement, especially when you're the only one at the counter.

IMO, the company would benefit from bringing in one of the weekday staff members (or a manager) to assist with training in the meantime to work out some of these customer...
