Banh Mi Hue in Hamilton is an absolute game-changer, easily making its way into my top three favorite spots to eat in the city. Whenever I need a pick-me-up or something to celebrate, their banh mi is my go-to treat. Whether you choose the Assorted Sandwich (Thập Cẩm), the zesty Lemongrass Chicken (Thịt Ga Sả), the rich BBQ Pork (Xa Xíu), or the flavorful Lemongrass Beef (Thịt Bò Sả), you're in for a delight. And here's a tip: add that chili oil for an extra kick—it's transformative.
Tommy and the team at Banh Mi Hue have catered large events for me twice, each time for over 200 people, and their service has been nothing short of exceptional. They're not just nice; they go out of their way to accommodate every request. Plus, the prices are so budget-friendly that it leaves you feeling great about your choices.
As someone who enjoys a hearty meal, I usually opt for two sandwiches to feel fully satisfied. I've experimented a bit, pairing a single sandwich with tapioca dumplings, fresh rolls, sesame balls, or honeycomb cake. These sides are good, but honestly, they don’t compare to the banh mi's wow factor. About the sesame balls, though: the mung bean filling wasn't quite right, somewhat clumpy rather than smooth and pasty, as I'd expected. It's a minor point, but it stood out to me.
But that's just nitpicking. I can't recommend the banh mi enough—if you're in Hamilton, do yourself a favor and drop by Banh Mi Hue. It's a place I plan on visiting for as long as I can. Trust me, you'll want to keep coming...

Where do I even start.
Growing up In Mississauga, there was this little Bánh mì shop in a small plaza on bloor Street. And I remember going to school just across the road me and friends would often visit that store to get some sandwiches and me and my family loved having food from there. I haven't had Bánh mì in a while but I came across this location and decided why not. Let me try it. And from my first bite, the crispy bread, the world of flavours, the pork, the tinge of spicy, the sweet carrots, it's as if I was a little kid again. The nostalgia and the memories it brought back because of how authentic and delicious the taste was to what I remember it being from this other small place was incredible.
The price? Insanely cheap!! For what feels like food that should be priced to compete with bigger brands and other options. You will not find anything at a comparable price point EVEN IF they raised their prices.
To top this off, the service here is just absolutely phenomenal. Nothing makes food more enjoyable to me than good company and people who take pride in their work and the food that they make. Every single person who works here is beyond friendly and amazing. I cannot express how much this adds to the value of the meal.
They have made me a repeat customer. Never change guys. You...

We ordered a Lemongrass Beef Bahn Mi and an Egg Bahn Mi, and we were absolutely blown away by the quality of the bread and every single ingredient inside. It was so full of flavour and had crunch in all of the right places. I think I might go back for dinner tonight 😏
We also got some sides, one of the kinds of dumplings, the fresh rolls and two sesame balls.. all of it was great! The fresh rolls were very fresh tasting although I did find myself wanting a little more flavour. The dumplings were fantastic with the oil dip and the sesame balls.. MAN they were tasty! For $1 each you seriously cannot go wrong. All of this food for $31.
Not only was the food incredible, the gentleman at the counter was super friendly and brought a great energy to the restaurant.
Highly recommend this spot and will be bringing anyone I can...
