Came in for dinner, fairly busy place as it was a Saturday. Pretty tight seating area but not an issue as you won’t be getting up and moving about, they bring your orders to the table for you.
Sushi rolls, nigiri and sashimi are fresh and incredible. Their Tuna being the standout for me personally. May be the best I have ever had (my parter agrees and she typically can’t stand tuna rolls). Dim sum and hot items like the teryaki are also exceptional. A great overall selection as well may I add. Overall food was exceptional.
My complaint comes in the way of food allergies. I was glad that our server went out of their way to ask about allergies, which I am allergic to mayonnaise, so I asked about that specifically. They said it was not a problem, and they would request the kitchen make our tables orders without it and even substitute hot sauce (I usually just avoid items with mayo so I was thrilled they were offering to do this). First order, I ordered 3 tacos, which came out with spicy mayonnaise on top. Now I hate to waste food, and will do whatever I can to not, but I could not eat these for allergy reasons, so I asked our server about it, they apologized and took them back, and even offered replacements. 20 minutes later I asked about the tacos (didn’t care by this point but wanted to try them they looked great) and our server said they’d check again. Needless to say, we never got the tacos without mayo. Second round i went for a couple salmon roses, they came out again with mayonnaise on top. I once again alerted the server who took them back, apologized once again and said they’d bring more. Now those came instantly with no mayo, so just a mistake right? However, I was eager to try these darn tacos, so I ordered one once again, which lone behold, came out once again with spicy mayo. I was convinced the kitchen had either been completely ignoring the requests or the server had been not telling the kitchen no mayo at this point. Frustrating as it was a $100+ meal, especially when they offered to accommodate my allergy so readily.
Food allergies are not to toy with. If you openly offer adjustments to customers based on what could be life threatening allergies, follow through. You are asking for a lawsuit at this point if someone were not as careful as I was, especially with the sushi rolls which can contain things a lot of ingredients, making things like mayo hard to pick out on a whim. Absolute trash! They forgot my utensils multiple times. Completely incompetent staff. DO NOT ORDER! Especially if you're expecting to be able to eat your food. I let it pass but it's been more than 10 times and that mean the owner is absolutely clueless on how to train staff or run a business. Thanks August 8. Your absolutely terrible!
Also look at they way they pack their vegetables. Just hucks em in there juices all over the container not giving any care to the customer! Absolutely garbage service and handling also.
Then the ignorant reply staff had the audacity to try and tell me that I hadn't added chopsticks to the order, only for myself, the one who eats competence for breakfast goes and checks my order history to find 7 x chopsticks sitting there in the order history for my last order. Also they chose not to address the other 10+ times I hadn't received what I had ordered. Either food or utensils.
So as you can see by August 8 and their reply their main concern is not to address their own problems and then wrongfully accuse individuals without properly checking order history. They want to try and deflect their own problems instead of being better.
This is NOTHING like Japanese Cuisine. They would not tolerate such excuses or ignorant. This is shameful business practices. Lot's of sushi places to eat out there I highly recommend avoiding this place!

When I brought it to the attention of the first server he looked at me and acted like it wasn't a big deal. This is major health and safety problem. We dont know who was drinking out of that glass before my husband. That person could have had cold sores, covid or a bacterial infection for all we know, and their negligence towards health and safety just potentially exposed my household to it. He then went and got another server who when she came over I showed her and expressed how bothered we were and she acted like it wasn't a big deal and asked what I wanted her to do. I replied with that I wanted my husband and I to choose our service fee (tip) as we were being charged 18% for being a part of a large group. I find this to be a reasonable request, considering they could have just exposed my household to a variety of infections due to their poor service. The server then accused our table of trying to "hustle" them because apparently before my husband and I arrived at the restaurant, someone had asked about the service fee, unbeknownst to us. This is where she then offended everyone. No one at that table was wearing lipstick. Whether or not someone had asked about a service fee before my husband and I arrived does not take away the fact that you gave my husband a dirty glass, that he then drunk out of and then you had no remorse for it. No one was trying to "hustle" you, clean glassware is simply a basic level of hygiene that is expected of any establishment.
