Beasley House Bistro — Restaurant in Hamilton

This is the first time I’ve been at this restaurant. My family planned to host my husbands birthday. Reservation for 7PM for 8 people. Our server didn’t know the answer about the menu items. We ordered 2 appetizers at 7:30PM and all of our meals same time. It took until 8pm before it arrived. It wasn’t until 8:30PM when my husband tried to find our server, no where to be seen. No one at the bar to be seen. We had to stack our dirty dishes on a nearby table because our server didn’t come and pick up our dirty appetizer dishes. While we wait for 5 out 8 people to receive their meal at 8:35PM our server is delivering food at nearby tables, while partial orders were delivered to our table.

So, it is acceptable for some of our table to get their food, but the others are to wait while our server brings food to other tables? When questioning the server, her exact response is “it’s coming!” We didn’t get “I really do apologize for this, I assure you it’s coming!” Even any kind apology would have helped eliminate part of the frustration.

Sunday Jan 24 - no wine menu - the waitress finally served a Chardonnay wine after 20 min - we asked about the menu i.e. Salmon - no sauce, only a herb/butter - 3 in the party decided to order the steak - 20+ min later the waitress arrived and stated " I am sorry, but the chef stated he would NOT serve the meat available in the kitchen - we would have to reorder - we politely declined & said we would leave as there was little choice left for a proper main dinner - the waitress said she would bring our bill for the wine & beer - returned to say " no charge" - the only positive attitude in the choice of our evening as any proper rest. owner would want to make amends for such inadequate service. We were more than ready to to leave - arrived @ 6:30 pm and left @ 7:30 pm - this is in the entertainment book under "fine dining" - ??? A booking was made on Friday, Jan 22 with a gentleman @ the "fine dining restaurant" - when we arrived the waitress stated "no booking" was arranged - NOT worth a 2nd visit even with the $20 entertainment coupon - poor choices, poor information on what was available - maybe a PUB ??? but not even then would we ever...

Went there for a friends birthday, we were a group of 8. There was only 2 other tables (one which came in much later than us). Service was EXTREMELY SLOW. We waited 1.5 hours for our dinner. Our meals did not come out together. They were almost 15 mins apart meaning the people who got their meals first and waited for everyone else's food to come out were cold now. Waitress rarely came by to clear our table (we got two apps that also took almost an hour) or refill our drinks, we ended up having to stack the dishes ourselves and put them on the table beside us. When concern and frustration was expressed to the waitress she just said "it's coming". No acknowledgement that this service was not okay, no apologizes, didn't seem to care we were very dissatisfied with our service. The sad thing is the food was very good but I will never return due to how POOR AND SLOW the service was.
