We ordered three mini lava cakes for my daughter’s 11th birthday. We ordered a boba cake, a mango cake, and a tiramisu cake. I made the order days in advance and picked up at the time I was allotted. I didn’t check them when there because they were all labelled correctly on the outside, and neatly wrapped up. So the first time we saw them was when we were about to sing to her and serve them. The boba cake had absolutely zero boba pearls on it. None. Not really a boba cake without the boba! So it was just a plain cake. The mango one had much less mango than I was expecting from what their photos show on their webpage and Instagram. It had six small pieces.

I phoned the shop and explained our issue, we went back and forth (including them hanging up on me once “accidentally”) about how to resolve this. I don’t drive, don’t live in Hamilton, and had to get a special ride in to pick up our cakes so coming back in for a “free tea” wasn’t really an option for me. They earlier mentioned they could deliver a replacement, but once I started taking to the owner (earlier had been a front cash employee I think) he really didn’t want to bother doing that. Eventually, he grudgingly said he’d send someone with a new cake, but that he was too busy to do it himself. He honestly kind of laughed off the whole thing, saying when they’re busy, these things happen. Not really what I’d like to hear from the owner of a specialized bakery resolving their own mistake, but ok...

A short while later, I received a call saying someone was on their way with pearls. I was confused because they were supposed to be sending a replacement cake. This person (totally different one from anyone I’d previously spoken with) said oh well they didn’t have any left (apparently no one thought to check before offering one to us). I said that wasn’t what we agreed upon and now I guess I’m just getting a refund. My daughter is really disappointed, this was for her BOBA THEMED birthday party! I went out of my way to buy from this bakery only because they had a boba cake. Talk about disappointing!

The cakes themselves were light and fluffy, but nothing special especially considering how much they were missing. I’d highly suggest anyone buying from here to check their cakes very carefully to make sure they’re up to par. Maybe it’s a great place to just pop in for a treat, but I won’t be ordering again.

[edited to add] After leaving my review, I was contacted by Jia, the other owner of the shop (it’s a husband/wife team from what I understand). She was very apologetic not only about the cake, but also about how things were handled. She offered to send a new cake the next day, as well as gave us a refund. I greatly appreciate all of these offers and efforts, and I am changing my rating to 3 stars. She also shared numerous ways they are now striving to change how they do things and how they handle issues like these so hopefully more folks have a positive experience right...

On January 28th, I reached out to this incredible bakery with a special request: a Dark Chocolate Truffle cake that had to meet very specific criteria. I wanted a cake with rich dark chocolate cream, low sugar, a moist texture, and most importantly, it had to be vegetarian (no animal products except dairy). This was no ordinary request, and I had already tried twice before with other bakeries, failing to find a cake that would win my wife’s approval.

She took on the challenge like a true professional, This was my third attempt in finding such a cake that gets my wife's approval. Her willingness to create the perfect cake was truly commendable.

Comes Jan 30, I get the picture of the cake from the baker, looking exactly like I asked for and then picked up on the same evening.

Celebrated with my wife at midnight.

The taste was divine, the texture was perfect, and the level of sweetness was just right. Every bite was a heavenly experience, and my wife’s reaction said it all: “THIS IS TRUFFLE!” Her approval was the ultimate seal of excellence.

To all my fellow vegetarians, especially those from India (Jay Swaminarayan!), I cannot recommend this bakery enough. Their attention to detail, commitment to quality, and ability to cater to specific dietary requirements are truly unmatched. You will not be disappointed—this bakery is a gem! ❤️❤️

Ordered the black sesame mochi cake for my dad's bday also got some puffs (sea salt cookie cream, vanilla & ube) & mochi donuts (jasmine, hk milk tea, matcha & churro). All of it was amazing & great flavour. Placed an order this morning for Hubby's bday for pick up this afternoon. This order I'm getting the pandan strawberry coconut cake and more puffs (ube, matcha, earl grey, salted caramel, pistachio, sea salt cookie cream) can't wait to try them.

Update January 2024: all the puffs are amazing but my absolute fav is the earl grey!! The pandan strawberry coconut cake was so light, not sweet at all and addictive! My 2 & 10 year olds who are not cake/sweet fans ate most of the cake! Can't wait to order again soon! I recommend ordering online so you get the flavours you want!

Another update July 2025: I wanted to reorder the pandan strawberry coconut cake again that we ordered last time but didn't see it on the website so I sent an email and Jia was able to make it happen. This time I ordered their slab cake which definitely feeds 20+ ppl even with seconds. My family was worried that no one was going to eat the cake but once they all tried it they absolutely LOVED it & had seconds (which is rare in our asian household). Thank you again Jia and...
