I would give this place more stars if I could, it's truly a hidden gem in this city. We got mimosas made with fresh-squeezed orange juice, a deliciously fruity cold brew with house made syrup and oat milk to drink.
To eat, I got an avocado toast with perfectly poached eggs on an amazing slice of what tasted like garlic bread. My partner got the double meat sando with added avocado (they happily substitute where they can without attitude, unlike some places in the neighborhood. The eggs were soft and fluffy and flavorful and held their own with the bacon and the chicken sausage. I've come here before and the hash brown is amazing as well.
I got the chocolate chip cookie to go, and it's enormous (bigger than my hand) and I'm pretty sure they brown the butter they use in them.
Even if you can't come in, the walk up window is great as they have far superior coffee and tea to anything else around (as a New York City girl who knows good coffee) and the service is phenomenal.
I don't review a lot lately but I would be so sad if this place continued to be hidden, as much as I like being able to go in without a reservation. Give this place a try and you will become a regular, trust me...
Read moreLOVED it here!! I got the Hong Kong French toast on Milk bread and it was fantastic!!
The only odd thing is that their sandwhiches from their take away window were not on their sit down menu. When we asked to order an sandwhich or dessert from the “to go” menu, they were ok with it but it came out in “to go” bags.
The whole time we were there they asked for feedback so I mentioned that I loved the menu, but they needed to add their “to go” options on their sit down menu (with sides, as we ordered) They have the food in the kitchen anyway and the option for their amazing sides already on their menu. I just wanted to be able to order what I want and enjoy it in the restaurant. She said they were doing brunch and seasonal menu on different days of the week and that was their focus in the restaurant.
In my opinion, if your take away window is so successful, it might bring more people in to try your other dishes. Plus it would be way less confusing to have one menu with everything on it and then a “take away” menu for the window, that only features your handheld/ takeaway options.
All that to say, I will still come back as everything we ate was...
Read moreFor the sake of this restaurant I won’t rate it lower, but they have some issues they seriously need to address.
I had this place bookmarked for awhile and finally went here for brunch. Most tables were full but no one there to immediately greet you and no sign that says to wait (they should def get one) eventually I had to go to the take out window and asked to do sit in. Service was EXTREMELY slow to the point I was shocked. No music playing either. They definitely need to hire a bigger team at least for weekends.
Now for the food - it tasted good and the menu was creative, but let’s just say… there were quality control issues.
They were apologetic though which I appreciate, but seriously they need to work on their cleanliness, service, and speed. Usually if someone has issues with their food you don’t charge them for the item, they only gave a small discount 😂
By the time we left it wasn’t even crazy busy but the staff seemed chaotic. I really hope they work on their front and back of house, and I’m saying all these things so they can improve. Just wish I had a...
