The town of Waterdown is lucky to have the Copper Kettle Cafe! While walking through Waterdown yesterday and trying to find a place to sit and have a bite to eat, my peripheral vision catches a glimpse of a window sign saying "freshly made apple fritters" (my favorite) - and like a magnet, my hand is on the door knob before I know it. Opening the door was one of the best parts, as the cafe is on a busy intersection and one goes from the smell of vehicle fumes to Copper Kettle's little universe of a most wonderfully perfumed air resulting from a fusion of great coffee and amazing kitchen preparations; and in an instant, you come to a realization that the time you will spend at Copper Kettle Cafe, will be cherished and remembered for the goodness it will provide. I commend the staff for their, above and beyond, efforts to ensure the time you spend under their roof is as hospitable as possible. The Goat Cheese Melt was finger biting good - I had them add some Turkey and it was a perfect match - next time I'll try with ham. Roasted red pepper soup with some goat cheese sprinkled on top was exquisite. I look forward to our next time together, Copper...

Good: For a cafe, the food was good. I ordered their goat cheese sandwich and their pear salad. The raspberry vinaigrette on the salad was delicious. The ratio of roasted red peppers on the sandwich was off, there were too many and it over took the flavour of the goat cheese. But for cafe style food it was tasty and fresh.
The atmosphere was nice. I was seated at the bar and the table to stool height was nice.
The Not So Good:
I was immediately put off by the location of the order line. It is directly in the way of where all of the staff have to pass back and forth from the kitchen. It was frustrating to have to try and read the tiny menu while also minding where I was standing.
My order was unfortunately forgotten about. I was seated across from the young woman who ordered before me. Her food arrived promptly. 30mins later I still had not received my food and noticed other diners who had arrived after me being served. I went to the cash and asked about it. A few minutes later someone came to my table asking me what I had ordered as they didn't have any record of it being placed. Thankfully the cashier remembered me and I had paid with a card so could provide proof of purchase.
I am not sure I will be returning but it was an ok place to...
