July 2021- So, tonight I returned to Kamoosh and it was such a difference from the last time that I HAD to repost something. We waited 1h and 50 min for our entree. We received our entree 10 minutes before closing. (Mine was awful. I couldn't eat it. Not worth the wait and I LOVE food. Not picky.). It was awkward and uncomfortable to eat in a rush, alone in a restaurant while wait staff clears all the other empty tables. This was my mother's first visit here. I had been singing high praises about this place and then I apologized profusely to my famly the entire ride home because it was so incredibly bad. One of the most disappointing dining experiences that I have EVER had. Staff apologized, but did nothing else to help make the evening less of a wreck. My family discussed this and decided that it now deserves 2 stars, not 5. This place has fallen far and hard. December 2020 review- I heard someone rave about this place so I had to try it. Wow. They were right. It's amazing. Such good food. I am absolutely coming back here. Beside the exquisitely delicious food, everything was clean and they fully followed all covid protocols. I highly recommended for a date night or adult friends/family dinner.

I was so excited due to all the good reviews but a little disappointed. Server was very good and the drinks and appetizers came out quickly but the mains took an hour to get to us. We almost had to leave without eating. Presentation was wonderful. The fish of the day was excellent but the risotto was not really risotto. Instead of using Italian risotto rice like arborio or carnaroli, it seemed like they used regular white rice so instead of a thick starchy sauce, it was a bit soupy. Flavours were great but for the price, and for a place known for their risotto, it should be more authentic instead of Uncle Ben’s. The carpaccio and crudo were good but literally just a smear on a plate enough for a bite or two. Calamari also a small size. Just an fyi if sharing. Drinks were awesome!

Cute restaurant and bar, considered high-end based on menu and prices. The cocktails were amazing. Tried the Beef Crudo, Freshly Shucked Oysters, and friends had the Branzino. Oysters - these tasted great, very fresh and no shell fragments. All were properly shucked. Comes with fresh horseradish, yummy hot sauce, and mignonette. Beef Crudo - it was tasty and great quality beef. It came with bread, which was good. It had a light topping of Parmigiano, onion and herbs. It was very small, especially for the price. Would not be suitable to share Branzino - whole fish cooked perfectly. It is a medium size fish can one can easy alone or share. Elderflower Gimlet - so tasty and addictive. New favourite cocktail and it’s beautiful visually.

I will start with the positives. We were seated promptly and the ambiance was beautiful. It is a lovely spot. We waited a little longer than normal for our drink order to be taken but as we were in no rush, we thought nothing of it. The Paloma I ordered was delicious. At this point however, things took a turn. We had to eventually flag down our server to place our order (mains only - two pear salads add chicken/steak, a pesto chicken pasta, and a child’s spaghetti and meatballs). We received the child’s order in a timely fashion however the adults waited 1 hour and 40 minutes exactly for our food. We had to flag down our server who seemingly forgot we even existed for each of the following: cutlery/napkins, drink refills (we had to eventually ask another server for a refill after 3 separate requests to our server went unfulfilled), a steak knife, and the bill. I asked the server if something was causing the delays (ie short staffed etc?) but was told “the kitchen is just really slow right now”. At no point was there any accountability or apologies which was very odd and made things extremely awkward. There was a senior couple at the table next to us that eventually gave up on waiting for their meals and left after their appetizers. The restaurant was maybe at 40% capacity so I simply do not understand the reasons for the staggering delays. When the food finally came - again, 1hr40mins later, the two salads consisted of no more than 2 cups of basic spring mix packaged salad with 4 paper thin slivers of mushy pear and no blue cheese as advertised. It also had the smallest portion of steak and chicken for the price being charged. When we questioned our server on whether he believed this was acceptable he agreed it was ridiculous and took one of the salads back. An appropriate serving size was then provided. I was so frustrated at this point I said don’t worry about mine (the salad with steak) as I was unwilling to wait a minute longer for more mediocrity. The server discounted my meal by 50% and told me “they are training a new guy and he doesn’t understand the portion sizes”. My husband and I paid over $80 for our two meals (excluding tip) for truly the worst dining experience either of us have ever had. Our guests paid the same for one adult entree and a child’s meal. There are no other words for this experience than sheer disappointment. I love Waterdown and always prefer to support local but there is simply no excuse for this astonishing lack of service or accountability, especially when other local establishments consistently go above and beyond to ensure a great experience. I wish I had read the reviews prior to making our reservation as this seems to be recurring feedback that clearly, no one there has taken seriously to address or correct. This restaurant was contacted directly before writing this as I do not like to put small businesses on blast however after zero response, I felt it was necessary. There are FAR superior restaurants...

The only way to start this review is by saying how disappointed I am about this restaurant. I was so excited to eat here, but from the moment we walked in to the moment we left, it was absolutely horrible!

The service here is awful! The waitstaff are so rude! Our waiter never came to check on us, took over 30 minutes to take our drink order, another 25 minutes to get our drinks and then when we finally ordered our food, it took an hour to come.

Since this is an Italian restaurant, I assumed they would have a good espresso martini! I was wrong. They clearly made it with instant coffee. Since our waiter was nowhere to be found, I asked a different waiter if they worked here since I wasn’t 100% sure and she was the rudest person ever met! She eyed me up and down and said yes, very rudely, and I apologized, saying, “Okay, sorry to bug you, but our server hasn’t been around. This drink isn't very good etc. I would like to change it.” Granted, they did, but there was no “Oh, sorry to hear about that” or “Let me get that fixed” or “Let me grab your waiter” nothing. She just took it from the table and left, rolling her eyes. Then 10 minutes later, our waiter just put the wine on our table and walked away! And again, nothing to be like, sorry your drink wasn’t good or sorry it took so long for me to check-in. Nothing!!!

It is very sad to see how awful the service was because the back of the house ( the kitchen) is clearly incredible! My pasta, although overpriced, was very good and my friend's pizza was very good also!

We came to Kamoosh Bistro on Friday, July 21st, at around 7:00 pm and didn’t leave until like 9:45 pm ish. We order two drinks and two mains. Takeaway points: not once were we checked on or asked if you were doing okay or wanted anything more a random waiter filled my glass of water up once and didn’t come back to fill my friends up the female waiter in the blouse with a red or pink pattern on was the rudest service ever! She gave me the dirtiest look for just asking if she worked there. And each time she did pass, our take kept doing so. our waiter sucked! And clearly didn’t care for our business

All in all very disappointed with this restaurant! It’s a one-and-done. I even reached out to my friends who’ve been wanting to try this place and told them it's...

Very disappointing service!! Inexcusable!! My husband and I made a reservation a week ago last Saturday at Kamoosh Bistro for 8:00. It was our first time there. We had a long wait outside, with another couple ahead of us before anyone came to the door- at least 10-15 min. Not a good start. Our drinks order was taken in a fairly timely manner. Our calamari appetizer took half an hour to arrive; however, it was very delicious- the only good part of our experience. After 45 min., without anyone coming to our table to see how we were, or if we wanted another drink, my husband had to walk over to get the waiter. No apologies were given and he said our mains were coming out in 5 min. When my husband returned to the table, we flagged down the barman who had been collecting glasses from the tables on the patio. He told us that they were short staffed in the kitchen, but we asked why no one informed us why our mains were taking so long. None of the staff were apologetic at all. Finally our waiter came back at 9:30 to tell us that it would be 5 more minutes. We waited another 15 min, totally hungry and left cash to cover our drinks and appetizer. We walked out at this point and have never had to do this before in a fine dining restaurant! From my experience as a former waitress, there wasn’t much coordination going on with the staff to ensure all diners were looked after properly.- Like helping one another out! We will never ever return to this restaurant and have told our friends to stay away. I also emailed one of the coowners to let him know about our experience, including the positives- the calamari. No apology from him. He said he would get back to me in about a week- well it’s a week now. He also said he would have to look at the incident report, speak to staff, and check the hidden cameras in place. Not a good response! What happened to the customer should come always come first?? We weren’t difficult or demanding- in fact we were too patient. You just don’t treat your...
