Genuine Bakery and Catering — Restaurant in Hamilton

My friends and I decided on Genuine Catering for our Christmas dinner, and unfortunately, it was not a smooth experience. I initially called and spoke with someone to ask a few questions about our potential order, but when I followed up via email to finalize it, I never received a response. In the end, I had to visit the bakery in person to place the order. After submitting the order, I requested an email confirmation, but that never came. As the dinner date approached, I called to confirm the details myself, still unsure whether the order would be prepared correctly. Once again, I asked for an order confirmation—to double-check the menu and pricing—but again never received one. We ordered items from the Christmas menu, including ricotta lasagna, asiago-stuffed chicken, prime rib, grilled vegetables, salad, and a vegetarian stuffed pepper for one guest. While the food did arrive on time, there were several mistakes. Instead of the asiago-stuffed chicken, we received cordon bleu chicken, and the vegetarian stuffed pepper was missing altogether. As for the rolls that were included, we were given three bags of six buns—one of which was missing a bun. This was disappointing, considering the meal cost over $500. We ordered for 14 adults and a few kids, and I had been told to “order for the adults and there would be plenty of food.” Thankfully, we had prepared our own appetizers and sides to supplement the meal. Well where do I start. Genuine bakery was recommended to me by someone that said they did catering. I had an event that required catering. Gave them a call and explained everything what I wanted for how many people gave my phone number and name, was told the owner will call you back. Three days went by no call back. I called another three times and was told the same "owner will call you back this afternoon". Well you guessed no one called back. This means either they donot do catering but advertise they do, they are so busy they dont need my business or they are a terrible place for getting back to customers and terrible bakery. I think it's the last one. I will not recommend anyone to go here not even for one loaf of bread!!! Terrible terrible!!!! BE WARNED don't go to this so called bakery ... I am sorry for your loss but I was expecting at least a phone call since I spoke to four people there over a period of 7 days and still no response. Idont understand how you had my order on your books when I never ordered anything. I just gave a date of event and suggestions of what I wanted. I was waiting on a price. Found this place after searching online for caterers in my area. We ordered chicken cutlets and 2 types of lasagna for Christmas Day dinner. One cheese and spinach lasagna, as my wife is a vegetarian, and one meat lasagna. I was told to pick it up at some point during the day on Christmas Eve. When I got there I was greeted by a nice older man named Len. He told the boy who puts the orders together, Francis, to please collect my order for me. My order was ready when he said it would be ready. The instructions he gave me for how to heat up the food the next day for Christmas Day dinner couldn’t have been easier and worked out great.
