Luckys Fish N Chips — Restaurant in Hamilton

I'm going to tell this the way it is. For reference we visited Oct.19th in the evening.

We went in and ordered 2 - 2 piece fish and chips. While waiting for the food at the counter I couldn't help notice that they have a huge house fly infestation. They are all congregating on the ceiling and the exposed metal duct work. That means there is a breeding ground in the resturant. I am food safety certified and work in the food industry so I can tell immediately when I see these kind of things. Sometimes they breed in rotten grouting around sinks, pipes floor, food debris, uncleanliness. This wasn't all. The workers proceeded to wash their hands and wipe them all over their dirty aprons and then handle your food. But the part that I found super disgusting is when they girl was taking the fish out of the cooker she was taking a white dish towel patting the fish and setting that exact towel on the dirty counter and she would repeat this exact process for every piece with the same dirty dish towel from the dirty counter. I can't even believe the whole experience.

The food was good. I was a little turned off knowing the dirty practices they were employing.

The decision...

Tried this location when they first opened..... disappointed, recently gave a second try..... disappointed again . A box of french fries with a 4-5 oz portion does not make fish and chips.... halibut portion is tiny for the high cost.

Our first impression when they opened was not so hot but we gave it another go and have been thrilled we did! Each time has been a great experience from a very personable and friendly staff to better portion sizes and excellent fish n chips. Always cooked perfect, never soggy, never over fried, just right and we can tell they always use clean oil. Our expectations were low on Good Friday with the high volume but we were pleasantly surprised and dinner was tasty. Thank you Louis Hana Fish & Chips for doing what you...

Honestly the Best Fish around, NOW I have only ordered the halibut and not just for the " HALIBUT" as far athe fish goes. As far as Fish and Chips goes its a fried dinner its a greasy meal, BUT Luckys does it differently, it's not greasy even with fries and or onion rings..... NO greasy film left in your mouth NOR In the box they pack it in. ...order to much ....pan or air fry it the next day....fries / rings the fish OMG, just as good. If you want to get fish n chips locally in Binbrook or even a 15 min drive home, give the a shot. PS. The way they package the meal is very noticeable, they allow the heat, steam out so everything stays crunchy and crisp. I'll end this review with deep fried pickels won't disappoint...
