Meltwich Food Co.Hess Hamilton — Restaurant in Hamilton

I have to start by saying that I really want to like this place. I see all the great reviews, but after having ordered from this place 3 times over the past few months I can only speak to my own experience. So because I have never dined in and haven't interacted with staff, this review is solely based off of food quality. I also recognize that when I order through a delivery service, certain aspects such as food temperature upon arrival is not always in the resto's control- so that has been taken into consideration The reason for the 3 stars is simply- the ingredients themselves do not taste good to me. I have only ordered grilled cheeses though- I see other reviews praising the burgers, so maybe I will try one, but a little hesitant based on the consistent lack-luster taste and quality of ingredients used in my 3 orders. I also was disappointed in the "skimpiness" of the additional ingredients I would order and PAY for. I usually order just a classic grilled cheese, and depending on my mood add bacon or tomato, onion, etc. I ordered one with bacon and there was only one shriveled little strip on one side of the sandwich. Then the next time I ordered one with onions, there were more raw onions in there than there was cheese. That one was inedible and threw in the trash. Anyway, I never like giving bad reviews, especially to local businesses, so I will make the effort to give them a few tries before writing my opinion. Sadly this for me though is it. We travel from Welland to Hamilton because we would normally enjoy Meltwich We spent basically 30.00 to purchase burgers and poutine for my wife and myself

What a shock the Center of my meat in the burger was missing so I thought ok hand made maybe fell in the grill however the burger was cold and not a little ,a lot

The poutine was actually was swimming in a gravy like a water gravy not the usual nice gravy and cheese curds and you can tell it was sitting as it was also cold.

The meal was beyond disappointing, I went to the counter where what appeared to be two new girls , I explained to them and showed them the 2 1/2 inches of water gravy in the container and they both stood there dumbfounded saying nothing.

I had then written to the company whom basically did not respond then finally indicated they were having issues with there Hess/ King street location they were going to meet last Friday early March 2020.

I sent a reply to there email and nothing crickets....apparently customer satisfaction is not there philosophy

This certainly is a deteriant if customer satisfaction is not a priority you can bet product quality is not a priority either. Shame Meltwich corporate and franchise My time my gas money to Hamilton and my meal....Shame that’s not how companies grow

The way they have also responded to me is pathetic not a word I was polite no conflict actually the girls only looked at me when I showed them even the head office has not...

Food was mostly good, service terrible. Parked the car at 1:40, put 25 minutes on the metre and had an appointment at 2:30. Order was placed at 1:50. There was one girl taking orders at the front and two guys at the back. One guy walking back and forth the whole time, eating and drinking a milkshake. The other one in the back not doing much but just chatting with the other. So our first sandwich got given to me at 2:10 (20 minutes later) and then our hamburger was placed on the counter a few minutes later, ready to be served but the girl at the front was busy taking orders and neither of the guys had her back or even crossed their minds to give us the burger. It sat there for 10 minutes. She finally gave it to us around 2:25 but we still hadn't received our poutine. I asked about it and she said it wasn't ready yet but there were two other poutines sitting on the counter ready to be served (we were before everyone else waiting for food). Finally got our poutine around 2:30. Obviously, I had missed my appointment time by now and had to be late. Also, when we went outside to our car, Bylaw was standing beside it JUST about to write us a ticket. Luckily they didn't or I'd be even more annoyed....
