Original Shawarma — Restaurant in Hamilton

I am a regular customer. I always order the double leg mandi, amongst other things.

For sure I've spent at least 1000 here this year. I have two jobs and it's been convenient to order the tray to get me by for a couple of days.

The last handful of times I have ordered there have been items missing or an entirely different order altogether. I like one or two things on this menu max.

Today I received a completely wrong order and when I called the restaurant to talk about it they told me to drive there to get the right one. It's 8 PM after a long day, I've spent 15 in delivery fees.. im not going to drive across the city to pick up my correct order.

I am always hesitant to leave bad reviews but like I said.. the last few times my order is wrong.. I try to talk to the restaurant rather than give them a bad review or dispute it on uber.. and the girls are either rude or dismissive, no apology and just tell me to come to the store. Guys.. I am the opposite of a Karen, I'm the one who eats the wrong orders and says nothing.

The uber driver also knocked on my door and asked me to rate the RESTAURANT .. when I said leave it at the door.

Wild.

I will not be losing money...

I was hosted for this, but despite that, this is firmly in my top 3 shawarma spots in Hamilton, along with Neighbour Shawarma and Wagon Grill, although this might be my new favourite.

The best dish we tried was the 1/2 chicken and 1/2 lamb shawarma on rice and fries. The portion was massive and the garlic sauce was perfect. I typically prefer chicken but the lamb may have it beat. I highly recommend trying their spicy garlic.

The fries were almost identical to Costco fries, yet their seasoning brought this to a whole new level. I’d come back for the fries alone.

I’m typically not a wrap or pita guy, but I thoroughly enjoyed the chicken shawarma on Saj. They even topped this with another dish (starts with an ‘M), which was spicy garlic on Saj, topped with more chicken shawarma.

On top of this incredible experience, they were handing out lentil soup to any guest that wanted this. I’ve seen other reviews and confirmed with them that they do this for any customers waiting outside in line on their busy days, which added to the already awesome service.

I can’t recommend this place enough and will be back in no time as part of my bi-weekly to monthly...

We drove an hour to have “original shawarma” in Hamilton and being Lebanese I of course had an expectation but this place fell short in every area. We were gawked at by the staff just coming in the door, while the girl who took our order was friendly enough all of our sandwiches were prepared wrong. We ordered chicken shawarmas that were all dried out and flavourless even the garlic. The beef shawarma had no flavour at all. My kids were starving and couldn’t get through theirs. It was awful. Nevermind that a very large group entered from another door and occupied almost all the dining space while we were trying to order and then took chairs from the table we had set our things on for ourselves, then argued with us when we asked for one back! It was a terrible experience. Pretty sure if I looked the part things would have gone differently as they seemed quite happy to serve their obviously ethnic customers yet my family & another couple were shuffled through quite dismissively. After all this they asked if this was my first visit and to give them 5 stars. I don’t think so. We won’t be returning. La Luna Express is right up the street and has never...
