Pho Dui Bo — Restaurant in Hamilton

We tried this place for the first time last Wednesday and came back on Sunday and again today (Tuesday). It’s that good. Delicious food, generous portions, friendly staff/excellent service. Go!

Update

We’ve made an effort to support this restaurant during lockdown by ordering food to go at least once a week. We ordered yesterday and BOTH orders of pho came with broth that was essentially salted water. I called the restaurant and was told “no, you got the right broth”. I mentioned that I order this dish often (605) and was positive that the broth wasn’t right, that there was zero flavour. He checked with the kitchen while I was on the phone, and they confirmed that they had forgotten to put the ‘flavour’ into the broth. Dude on the phone (manager?) mutters “f*#king guy” then told me I could come back to get a new one. No apology. So I got back in the car, drove over and was given a replacement container of broth. Another batch of bland, colourless liquid. I told him it didn’t look or smell right, he told me it did, it’s how it always made...it wasn’t, but he didn’t care. We didn’t realise that the second order (336) was equally awful until we got back from the restaurant the second time :(

We’ll go back to dine in if it survives lockdown, the regular staff are fantastic and the food was always delicious. In the meantime, we’ll order from somewhere else. The man taking care of the pick up orders is doing this restaurant a...

Updated review: Since my original review, we have gone into the restaurant a few times and ordered delivery a few times. Eating in the restaurant, the food was awesome. Unfortunately, every delivery has been gross! The Soups were old and souring. I only recommend this place now if you go into eat at the restaurant.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:First time trying this place, I must honestly say I'm very impressed. I ordered through Uber, and it was the best place I have tried since living here through takeout! Everything was great. Tasting, fresh, smelled amazing, the portions were perfect! Everyone got filled really quickly, and there are lots left over. Everything we ordered was like we ate in the restaurant. Nothing was soggy, cold, or old tasting. I'm very happy with this place. The main dish I ordered was sweet and spicy, which is not really my thing at all, but I still really enjoyed it, and we all tried each others food and everyone loved everything. Boyfriend and I have come here a few times because its walking distance and food has been a hit and miss but our most recent time was awful and wont be coming back. Ordered "crispy noodles with veggie and shrimp" in the stir fry section and it was literally a plate of uncooked raw noodles with shrimp and undercooked veggies in the middle which were luke warm/cold. No sauce or anything I could not believe they actually served it so didnt eat it. The service was awful. Servers never come by the table, asked for the bill and a take out container, gave us the container and then waited for 15 minutes for another server to finally come by so we asked for the bill again and she just pointed to the front. Would have been nice to know we pay at the front when we asked the first time. Everyone there looks miserable and barely says 2 words. Loved the cheese wontons but every time we ordered it it never came with 10 pieces like it was supposed to only 8-9 and they arent good enough to come back.
