A pleasant surprise! I'm a Vietnamese food lover, and I've eaten pho everywhere from Toronto Chinatown, to Hanoi alleyways, to Mississauga suburbs, to the outskirts of Seoul. In a town that normally caters to the 'meat & potatoes crowd,' Pho Viet T&T is a surprisingly very good option for people who need their authentic Vietnamese food fix. This is undoubtedly the best and most authentic Vietnamese food in the area.
I visited 3 times now, and I'm encouraged by the improvements each time. The bun (dry vermicelli) dishes are my favourite. The quality and flavour of the grilled pork is quite good. The sauce / seasoning and peanut garnishments really bring it to the next level in taste and texture. Presentation is excellent. Quality of the noodles is surprisingly good, as they are using the fresh noodles. Overall, I sense a richness to the flavours that tells me they are putting in real effort, though not quite at the level of the best pho restaurants I've visited.
I think they need to improve in terms of the condiments available, and supplies at the table. Unlike most similar restaurants, Phi Viet T&T does not provide an on-table organizer with hoisin, chili and fish sauce, and the special tin of house-made chillies in oil. (The lack of the chillies in oil is really disappointing.) They do provide hoisin and the regular ketchup-like chili sauce if you ask, but I would prefer if they did supply all of this by default, along with the origanizer of chopsticks, spoons, napkins, etc.
Pho Viet T&T Waterdown is a new favourite for me, and I will...
Read moreI had take out tonight and ordered Pho and a rice paper roll with sausage. This place is amazing. It can easily compete with the popular Vietnamese restaurants in Mississauga. Friendly staff, good portions and most importantly great taste. So good to have more options in this community. A must try if you are looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine. ——————————————————————— So above the line was my initial review. Since then it has been terrible. I gold them someone in my family has a nut allergy and please don’t sprinkle nuts on my take out dishes. When I get home nuts were sprinkled everywhere on all dishes. I phoned them and they said sorry, but it happens. It happens?
I gave them another chance. I went there with a group of people. They could not get the order right. They kept coming with the wrong dishes and we waited over an hour. When we re-explained the order she said she does not understand. We asked if we can speak to someone who understands English. She went to the back and came back out and said “nobody there”. Every time it is the lady. She is rude and provides poor service. Too bad. Food is good but never going back. Go to Behn Than in Burlington. Food is just as food and their service is always good. And they never put nuts on things when you ask...
Read moreWe love it here. We have ordered takeout many times and on the weekend we sat down to a date night. The food was delicious, well prepared, quality ingredients and the service was timely and friendly. They also have a very clean and modern looking facility, it is handicap accessible and the washroom facilities are on the main floor for easy access to anyone with mobility challenges. We had the mango salad and both loved the flavour. It has a nice texture- it’s crunchy and bright. It had fresh ingredients and the dressing had just a tiny amount of chillies for a little zip to balance the juicy mango flavour. I had the pho with rare beef, flank brisket and beef balls and my love had the beef satay. We both loved our meals, and had a bit of broth left over which we took home and made some noodles to have a second bowl for lunch the next day. He got a medium and I got a small and we both had extra. I also ordered a peach bubble tea at the end, which they made with real peach, it’s a slushy style bubble tea and made an excellent dessert. Smooth, bright tasting, creamy and full of boba pearls!
We will be back soon!
In our takeout orders we have tried almost everything here and it’s...
