My husband and I recently had the pleasure of hosting our wedding reception at Underbelly - By the Pig in Kamloops, and it was nothing short of extraordinary. With 68 guests in attendance, we couldn't have asked for a better venue.

From the moment we stepped into the space, we fell in love with its unique and inviting ambiance. It provided the perfect backdrop for our celebration. What truly set Underbelly apart, though, was its exceptional staff.

The cocktails served at Underbelly were nothing short of perfection. Each sip was a delightful journey of flavors, and our guests couldn't stop raving about them. The bartenders and serving staff were incredible. They not only served with expertise but did so with genuine warmth and enthusiasm, adding a special touch to our evening.

A particular shout-out goes to Sarah, who played a pivotal role in making our event unforgettable. She worked closely with us to organize and create a custom menu and drinks that perfectly matched our vision for the reception. Her dedication and attention to detail were evident in every aspect of our dining experience.

Underbelly also impressed us with their flexibility. They allowed us ample time to set up and tear down our event, which alleviated a significant amount of stress on our big day. Their support made the entire process seamless and enjoyable.

In sum, our experience at Underbelly - By the Pig was exceptional. It's a place where culinary expertise, outstanding service, and a commitment to creating memorable moments all come together. We are profoundly grateful to Sarah and the entire team for making our wedding reception an unforgettable, delicious, and truly...

In town from Vancouver for a golf trip and we googled top restaurants by us and this one came up. We decided to go here because it was walking distance from Sandman. I am not exaggerating when I say the Ponzu Steak Salad was phenomenal, as well as the pizza special (we typically don’t order specials but this pizza sounded amazing as did the bourbon sour special and they both were outstanding). The pizza special was Moroccan and the combined flavours were hard to believe that someone could create a masterpiece like that - pine nuts for the crunch, green olives, pork belly…sounds strange but was unreal. I hope they put it on their menu. To top it off, we had to see if the desserts matched the meals so we chose the blueberry basil cheesecake. Holy. Cow. The blueberry sorbet that was served with that cheesecake was the most juicy, sweet, mouth puckering taste of heaven. You could really tell the chefs care about what they put on the table. Hailey was our server and she was so sweet, perfect timing, gave suggestions and added just what we needed to make it 3/3 with the food, ambience, and service. It’s hard now a days to have all 3 be excellent, but this restaurant does it well. We will be back for sure and I will absolutely be telling people I know who visit...

I'll start out by saying that the food is excellent and I am a long time customer of both the Noble Pig and Underbelly when it was called Forno on Fifth. I also praise both these restaurants for their good quality local food and freshly made food.

Since the Underbelly has opened I have visited twice, and was overall happy with the new menu, but found myself missing some plates from Forno, like the Meza platter and the cast iron focaccia which filled the entire cast iron pan it was served in; as opposed to the small pieces served in the same dish as a part of the Satay Hummus dish.

The portion sizes are also just a little light and if your hungry you should order an appetizer with your meal. I am also happy to see a few more vegetarian dishes, especially since the Noble Pig has had fewer and fewer vegetarian options on their menu.

Overall the service is excellent and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food is great quality and flavours are excellent.

The Underbelly is definitely...

Went here for a mid-week supper. When you enter the restaurant, you get the vibe of this place right away — casual and trendy. The restaurant was spotlessly clean and quite busy. The staff are laid back, super friendly, and attentive. I had the Portuguese-style chicken sandwich with a side of parmesan potatoes. The sandwich was phenomenally good — great flavours on the marinated chicken with a fresh bun with fixings. The side of potatoes came in a generous portion and had great flavour. I also ordered a non-alcoholic cocktail that was fantastic. The server was a huge part of our excellent experience here. She was super attentive without being overbearing and genuinely friendly. She made us feel right at home with her good nature and easy style. Honestly, I’d go back to this place in a heartbeat. It’s a fantastic place and if you find yourself in Kamloops, it is totally worth checking out.
