Jaclyn's bobcaygeon — Restaurant in Kawartha Lakes

Just faced racism from a horrid server here. She was mean to my son and spoke to me in the most demeaning manner.

Response to the reply Edit: I will describe exactly what happened today. As we entered the diner, this waitress didn't have the courtesy to greet us with a waving hand she just said "sit anywhere", I said we will be a party of seven so she pointed to a table at the far corner of the restaurant.. note that I am pregnant and I had a toddler with me on a stroller. As we settled there, it took her considerable time to come with the menus, my son likes lining up the salt and pepper shakers at restaurants, something I don't stop him from, in his attempt to bring the shakers forward he dropped a few specks of salt on the table which would have been easily cleaned. When this server came, she immediately said "we do not play with the salt" asI tried to respond she cut me off and said "no it's not okay". My son's stroller was indeed parked in front of the door but the door had a "please use the other door sign" so I didn't think it was a problem. The issue wasn't that she asked me to move the stroller or corrected my son, it was the manner in which I was spoken to. It was a hot day and I had promised my son pancakes and he was very excited for them. I was expecting the same level of hospitality I had experienced throughout this cute little town and I was just thrown off by the blatant disrespect in her demeanor. Thanks...

I want to normalize what is good and bad food in Bobcaygeon. Jaclyn’s is bad food, I appreciate how nice everyone is in town leaving positive reviews but to be honest there just isn’t many places to go. I’d like to hold restaurants to a higher standard. We were so excited when this place opened because breakfast was hurting in Bobcaygeon. But unfortunately bad food strikes again, the portions are small, the potatoes are mushy and without seasoning, somehow the eggs look stale? The proteins are definitely from sunspun which everybody knows is the worst. The modo here is buy cheap, sell high, take advantage of old people without tastebuds and Put the least amount of love into decorating the place, it feels like you are on the inside of a ziploc bag. I know this is rude but somebody has to bring the passion back? My advice, put some thought into how the place looks to make people feel comfortable, increase your chefs pay so they are more inspired to cook the food, consider seasoning the food, buy better quality products even if you have to increase the price a bit and find some music people love to listen to. I would love to have a great breakfast spot in town it was my favourite meal to go out with, would love to come if anybody cared. Strawberry & Whip Cream topping on Waffles should be more than one strawberry sliced thinly, spread out on 4 waffles. Seriously? There was enough whip cream (barely). Coffee was also very weak with no options to have something stronger. My dad's and husbands breakfast was good, and there was lots of it. But they still complained about the coffee as well.
