This coffee shop is fantastic. I usually do not leave reviews, but this coffee shop completely blew me away.
I initially went there today just as a quick detour on my way home— but I found myself waiting an extra half hour, just so I could inform the baristas of what a wonderful job they’ve done.
ATMOSPHERE | 4.25/5
The coffee shop is very clean, open, well-organized, and well located along various bike routes and in the optimal Landmark District. It’s great when you’re at the farmers market or on a bike route, and appears kid and wheelchair friendly. Their patio is also dog friendly, I believe.
One thing I especially love is their little coffee station with the clean/dirty spoon cups, extra toppings, lids, straws and more goodies! I always find it well-stocked and clean, though it can feel a little far when you’re holding a hot coffee without a lid, in addition to feeling a little cramped when there’s a lot of people gathered around it. It still serves its purpose though, and definitely adds to the customer experience more than it detracts.
Another thing I found noteworthy was the local events and posters showcased in easy to read spots for you to look at while waiting for your order, as I think that is delightful. I have even attended a few events I found from that wall!
Lastly, I found the background music to be a bit loud at times, especially during slower business hours when there aren’t too many people sitting down. But because of how excellent the service and drinks are, I chose not to take points away for it. Other than that, this would be an 10/10 atmosphere in my opinion.
FOOD AND DRINK | 5/5
Noah is especially brilliant at making drinks. The iced latte I got was perfectly portioned, and the layers blended perfectly together. I have tried many coffee shops, from many different countries, but this one, surprisingly, takes the cake.
I also got a Bacon Breakfast Bagel, which was decent, and their Energy Balls which are consistently delicious, but the drinks really really stand out. Their blend of coffee leaves you with a resounding nutty flavour incorporated with a very smooth, rich, and deep flavour—something other local coffee shops still don’t seem to fully understand yet.
Another great thing about this place is the simple, optimally placed drink menu that offers various customizations that offers variety without being too overzealous or ambitious in its offerings. They offer seasonal iced teas and specialties, without sacrificing the quality of their drinks.
SERVICE | 5/5
I find coffee shops that do this often create more handcrafted and artistic drinks. This is a prime example of the age old adage, “practice makes perfect”: when there are fewer recipes, each barista comes across each drink more often—giving them consistent practice and experience with each drink. This results in every drink tasting consistent, delicate, and excellent.
This is definitely the case here; the baristas at this coffee shop are all very friendly, accommodating, polite, and consistently making great drinks that always achieve that specific, rich, and tantalizing Bean Scene quality that keeps me coming back.
All things said though, if you get the chance, Noah’s drinks will blow you out of the park. If you see him, try ordering one of his lattes! You will not regret it. To the store owners, give this fella a raise! He is fantastic!
This is one of Kelowna’s hidden gems, and if you ever get the chance to visit this coffee shop, do it! It’s wonderful, and a place I will return to many more times in the future.
Thank you for the great...
Read moreI am re writing my review which originally stated I had contacted the company about the disposition of a staff member. The response which comes six weeks plus later, talks about me being rude on the footage. Yet I was with my boyfriend who also had the same experience? My personality must have changed after being belittled when I didn’t know the drink size and when he was asked about his sandwich being warmed up. It was her attitude towards us that was the problem. I have worked in service for many years I would never ever talk down to someone for no reason if at all. I simply was shocked and embarrassed and walked away. Waiting till another staff member appeared and went up for a to go bag. She was rude period. We felt it as not being welcome at all. Period. My attitude changed because of that maybe ? but I was shocked and doubt very much I or my boyfriend who’s the nicest man in the world ever would be.
Additionally, no thank you. I will never step foot in your store again. It wasn’t busy. Being loud and vibrant is no excuse for anything. I served in lounges for years those are loud. Putting this back onto us after an uncomfortable, terrible experience is comical. She was rude or trying to come across as very aloof as I mentioned in my email prior. That maybe she had a trendy personality. Either way lots of shops. I’ll support another one and ensure my gift cards come from a more welcoming environment.
Also I even made a joke about me not knowing the cappuccino size saying it was late afternoon that should be strong enough. I wasn’t rude. Also inviting me in to see what you do ? To put a smile on my face.? Are you now implying I’m not smiley enough for you ? That’s comical. I don’t need to be belittled by serving staff, scolded on the Internet after rude service and invited back in too smile ? I made jokes. I ordered coffee we both thought she was rude and I waited to interact with different staff. End of story. I was uncomfortable and we weren’t...
Read morei’ve been to this cafe for the first time last year when i visited kelowna, i personally liked it (food, drinks, and the service was all good)
my friends and i decided to getaway from vancouver for the weekend and visit kelowna and the only reason why i’m rating this a 1 star is because the service we got from this one barista on saturday august 10 morning (around 9am). she was a really tall lady with glasses and dark brown hair.
we ordered 6 americanos for our friends and 2 cold brews for ourselves and then went outside to wait for a bit. we finally went back inside after some time and the barista gave the biggest attitude saying “thank goodness you guys came back” in the most snarkiest tone. she had 5 americanos and the 2 cold brews on a tray and with all lids on and asked us how many americanos we ordered, and i said 6. she then passed the last one to us without a lid.
we asked if we can get extra cups because all of the coffee were black as we wanted to bring a tiny bit of cream/syrup back for our friends who may want. we also kindly asked if we can get an extra lid on the last coffee. the barista told us that the lid was at the back (the lids at the back were for hot coffees.. so its a different lid). if you were able to put 7 lids on the other coffees how are you unable to put the last lid and to give extra cups? is that not your job? she kept scoffing. not sure why she was so grumpy on a saturday morning. be for real the day just started.
i also went to the front to ask the other kind lady if we could also get ketchup (same one who took our order) because my friend ordered a wrap and she was so kind to give it to us and was overall she has a friendly demeanour compared to the other barista.
although the food and coffee were good the first time & the recent time we’ve visited, the service from that one barista has brought the experience and eating...
