While looking for korean restaurants in Kelowna, we noticed several in the downtown core with mixed results from numerous sites. We stumbled upon Bon Ga Korean Cuisine while looking further into what options were available. Being in south Kelowna - Mission Hill area, we elected to enjoy a nice drive to to North Kelowna to eat.
Upon arrival, we noticed Bon Ga was a very open friendly atmosphere with several screen doors in the restaurant with a lot of amazing writing of how good the restaurant was. The menu was very simplistic, hinting that was offered was the best of the best. We ended up ordering Beef Bulgoggi Noodles, Spicy Rice Cake (Tteokbokki), a mixed seafood pancake, and two Cloud beers.
Wow, what can we say...this is by far the best Korean we've had even beating out Edmonton (where we're from), Calgary, etc. The beef was so rich and flavourful, the pancake was fantastic, fluffy and savoury. Most importantly, the Tteokbokki had so many rice cakes, my girlfriend had 10 to herself!
For the price, the atmosphere, the hospitality and the flavour, this restaurant for sure gives it all.
We highly recommend to anyone looking for good Korean food and a nice drive to a different part of Kelowna!
This is a must stop for anyone!
Thanks Bon Ga...
Read moreMove to Kelowna and wanted some good Korean food . Dropped by this small restaurant in Glenmore. Was not even greeted at the door. Had to wave the server to order . Food was terrible!! Hot stone pot was not even hot , warm at the most . Over price . Side was super small and when we wanted more of the sides, the server who I think was the owner had a long face . I told him I didn’t mind paying more for the sides bc we enjoy eating it with our meal . He brought us our sides but just dropped it off than walk off without even as if we like anything else . Our drinks were low but did not wanted to bother him . We still tip 15% bc we are in the industry. Cooks deserve their share was well .it wasn’t there fault for the horrible service. We will not bc...
Read moreI have eaten here a few times now, both in-restaurant, and by delivery via skipthedishes.
All of my experiences with this restaurant have been excellent. The service is good, and the flavour of the food is amazing--indeed, Bon Ga has become one of my "craveable" places to eat in Kelowna. I highly recommend my favourites: the Jeyuuk Bokkeum (spicy pork), and the Kimchi Fried Rice. I think that the portions are perfect for the price, especially compared to other options around town--they are not too big, and are of great quality.
I am no expert, but I can safely say that Bon Ga has the best Korean food I've tasted so far, even compared to the places I've tried in Vancouver, Toronto, etc. I will be looking forward to my next...
