Not sure how this place has such a high rating. I guess people in Kelowna don't have very high standards or any experience with authentic cultured food.

My wife and I got the bahn mi sub, salad roll, and coconut curry soup.

The salad rolls had nothing special to them. Pretty bland, as was the dipping sauce (it is possible to add different elements and flavours to salad rolls with minor effort).

The bahn mi was inedible. The tofu squares were pre-packaged, defrosted, and basically as dry as a bread crouton. The pickled carrots were soggy. There was no special sauce. My wife was concerned she might even get sick because All the ingredients look like they were just kept out at room temperature.

The coconut curry bowl had no flavour profile or depth to it. There was at least 3-4 huge spoonfuls of thick oil on top that I attempted to strain before even trying to eat. The tofu was the same as the bahn mi, prepackaged tofu puffs, not freshly prepared. I don't know why other reviews describe the tofu as "crispy" since they were soaking in the broth. The noodles were short, and waterlogged like you find in cheap chicken noodle packages. Barely any vegetables.

The only plus side was that it was clean inside and the prices weren't outrageous. But for some reason there are Chinese decorations in a Vietnamese restaurant. Obviously the food is not authentic. Go next door to "Frankie We Salute You!" Or even Freshii for a superior meal. We regret not asking for a refund but we didn't want any conflict and felt bad about restaurants struggling...

BEWARE when ordering from this establishment. Experience today was dreadful, from the long wait for placing an order and delivery of food. To realizing that your food order had items missing because of a belief by the 'owner' that items wouldn't fit in container so she will gladly charge you full price and then short you on your ordered. I ordered the Spring Roll bowl (includes 2 spring rolls) for $13. and added a $4 beef protein. Owner explained that they short you one spring when you add a protein apparently because it won't fit in the container.... ? Doesn't make sense. So make sure you actually get what you are paying for. I tried contacting the owner and she told me too bad this is how she does things. Won't be going back and or promoting this...

Five stars can't properly express how much I love this place! I go here at least once a week for lunch. The staff are so friendly, and the food is crazy delicious (and prices are almost unreasonably cheap for this quality!). Lemongrass-shrimp banh mi is my go-to, but they have some great bao as well. They also make bubble tea and home made iced teas, or if you're in the mood, you can grab a local beer. There's even a couple of long-benches outside that you can eat at if you want some sunshine and don't mind a bit of traffic noise (I usually have headphones with me so it doesn't...

One star for Yellow Star Snack House, served me some of the most dreadful food I've ever encountered. The spring rolls were saturated in burnt, rancid oil, making them practically inedible. The bánh mì was a childhood nightmare reincarnated, resembling a worm sandwich. Additionally, it's concerning to note that children were working at this establishment. Save your taste buds and your conscience—avoid this place at all costs. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, ever.

The smell enticed us as soon as we opened the door. The spring roll bowl was delicious. Portions are generous and very affordable. The server was very attentive and let us know everything is freshly made, even the plum sauce. The decor is simple, only 2 tables and a long bar. Only downside is this restaurant is only open 4 hours Mon - Fri. This will definitely be a regular place for me.

1. Vietnamese coffee’s taste seems to be instant coffee from supermarket and this coffee is too expensive with that quality. 2. If you are very very extremely hungry, this restaurant could be one of proper options. 3. Food is not bad but not amazing. 4. If you are not a big fan of Vietnamese food, you would be happy with its food. Just eat and make your stomach filled.
