We recently had the pleasure of dining at Kaya Sushi + Grill in Kelowna, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. Our group of five, including two guests, was thoroughly impressed by the delicious food, inviting ambiance, and exceptional service.
Food: The menu offers a delightful fusion of traditional Japanese cuisine with modern flair. We sampled a variety of dishes, including fresh sashimi, flavorful house special rolls, and perfectly grilled items. Each dish was artfully presented and bursting with flavor, showcasing the chef's attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ambiance: The restaurant boasts a clean, modern interior with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The thoughtful decor and comfortable seating made for a relaxing dining experience, allowing us to fully enjoy our meal and conversation.
Service: The staff at Kaya Sushi + Grill were incredibly kind and attentive. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel welcome and ensured that our dining experience was seamless. Their genuine hospitality added a personal touch that made our visit even more enjoyable.
Our two guests, who were visiting from out of town, were equally impressed and expressed their appreciation for the delicious food and excellent service. They even mentioned that this was one of the best dining experiences they have had in Kelowna.
In summary, Kaya Sushi + Grill offers a top-notch dining experience with delectable food, a pleasant ambiance, and outstanding service. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking authentic Japanese...
Read moreI'll start off by saying that my initial opinion of Kaya was much in line with some of the poor reviews but in all fairness, having run a restaurant before, most restaurants usually fail to please right after they first open. However, after having met the Japanese chef (who had graciously stepped out to check on me and my order) and speaking with him about his desire to bring more authentic and original food to his guests, i decided to give them another try about a month later. To my delight, I was right about the restaurants potential. The menu was revamped with more delicious, original and fairly priced dishes. The menu caters to those used to your more typical sushi rolls but the best are the dishes that you cannot find in the established Kelowna sushi restaurants. I dont think you can find the hot stone beef offered at Kaya anywhere else in Kelowna. I wish i can write more about their dishes but I have yet to try them all. trust me, i was tempted to order more but I know i will be back soon. As for the decor and service, the decor is modern and clean, and the service saw vast improvement from their first month or so. The restaurant is owned by a local Kelowna family and judging by the improvements they have made in a sort amount of time it shows that they care about their guests dining experience. all in...
Read moreThis was our third time at the restaurant and we have enjoyed the food each time. It is one of the only places for soba noodles which is why my husband likes this place. Tonight we went and my husband wanted to order the soba noodles, which is on the menu and served with tempura. He wanted to order fish instead of the tempura and asked if he could just order the noodles. We had been told in the past we could, but the manager told the server he would have to pay almost full price just for the noodles. I asked what the fish of the day was and both servers said it was tuna. Imagine my surprise when my fish arrived and it was salmon. Good thing I like salmon. We asked to speak to the manager as we were curious why they could not make a change with soba noodles, but had no problem substituting the fish without even asking if it was okay. Let's just say the manager needs to work on his people skills. He suggested we would be "cheating the kitchen" if we only ordered the soba noodles. He indicated that the menu is fixed and they cannot make any changes. Our server was excellent, the kitchen had no problem with a change, but the manager needs to learn flexibility. We shall see what the owner says when we...
