UPDATED EDIT AT BOTTOM Original: I went here every day for the dollar deals iced coffee and have built a nice familiar relationship with the staff, I always appreciate that one of the managers knows me by name. typically when dollar drink days are over I’ll start making my own coffees in the morning again, but I figured I’d get a medium iced coffee for old-time sake and also as it was a dollar itself. Upon getting said iced coffee, I took a sip of it and got a terrible surprise of grit in my coffee. occasionally, like any McDonald’s, they will mess up my order as I don’t like liquid sugar in my coffee, but Coffee grounds??? yuck! I wish I took a photo, but the kicker is: my replacement iced coffee also had coffee grounds in it. I ended up drinking it raw dog without the lid or a straw because I didn’t wanna sip on the coffee grounds at the bottom. as a long-term and regular McDonald’s patron, I have to admit I had much superior service last year in the Glenmore location when I would visit them every day. other than the coffee grounds incident, as well as the casual mess up of my order, I have no other complaints and they are a lovely set of staff I enjoyed getting my iced coffee from for the summer, although it seems as though once the summer is over, so is the quality. I hope something’s simply wrong with the coffee machine that’s making it spew out grounds —as the coffee was tasting a little off the past week as it was— otherwise, thank you for the service provided over the summer!
UPDATE: I was greeted by the manager who knows me by name, who kindly took me aside to let me know he talked with his staff to ensure there won’t be any issues regarding grounds at the bottom of my coffee :) He was so sympathetic especially knowing I’m a regular, and apologized for the experience. I really sincerely appreciate customer service like that!!! customer service that goes above and beyond to make resolutions!! I would’ve still gone to this location regardless, as it’s so close to my house and the manager is so kind, but he really elevated the customer service experience to a whole new level and i’m very impressed! Read moreThis specific branch always disappoints me with the food they serve every visit. I regularly visit Macao Imperial Tea which is nearby to this branch and always eat my Quater pounder meal after. First visit I had with this branch, they didn’t put the extra mayo I added in my burger, needed to go back to the manager and ask to check, that time they just got my burger and just add mayo without even saying anything. The same time, I ate my maple filled donut found out that it was completely frozen, ending me to just spit it out and did not finished it all. After that, I email my feedback using the instruction in their receipt.
Second experience, after taken my milktea again at Macao Imperial tea, tried to get the same meal that I usually order with Mcdonalds, and this branch still serve me the same poor quality of donut. Literally frozen. Then on I said I will never dine-in in this specific branch-Hollywood North.
Today, I got hungry after shopping at Value Village, few minutes walk away from this branch and wanted a quick snack so I ended up dining in here again. Same meal ordered, mayo is missing again even there is a sticker in my burger box saying extra “chicken dressing”. Surprisingly, maple donut was not frozen this time but when I bit it, it seems like it was microwaved much just to serve it. It didn’t feel like any maple donut I tried from other branch. The icing is completely melted and the dough feels like old and not fresh.
I dont know what is happening in this branch, but seriously, this is the worst Mcdonalds branch I have tried here in Kelowna. Harvey Ave, Walmart at Banks and the one at Lakeshore branch was doing an amazing job except for this one branch. Tried the online ordering and placed my order... got to the location 7 min later.... and sat curb side... and sat and sat... after 10 min I called the location, the manager answered. I asked why it took so long, I stated I saw 6 different cars go through the drive thru and leave. The excuse I got.. it's a LG order, 2 happy meals and 2 burgers and 2 Apple pies.... yes so large. The manager was rude on the phone from hello, i asked if i shpukd just do drive thru, he stated i can do whatever I want. Then it took 7 MORE min to bring my order out. When he came to my car he stated "you shouldnt have attitude with the person who makes your food" ummm my husband and i threw away all our food and took our kids to Wendy's. I will NEVER step foot in the door of this location ever again. I will be spreading my experience to anyone who will listen. This "manager" that is representing ypur establishment is going to drive away every person he comes in contact with.
