My recent experience at Pakwaan Restaurant left a bitter taste in my mouth, quite literally. Despite placing a simple order for three tandoori rotis, the experience quickly turned sour.
Upon unwrapping the rotis, it became apparent that they were tainted with red coloring from the paper they had been wrapped in. A call to the restaurant yielded little assistance, with the staff initially assuming only one roti was spoiled. Despite explaining that all three were affected and that we had guests waiting, their solution was lackluster at best, insisting we return to the restaurant.
Upon arriving, we were met with further incompetence as the payment terminal was conveniently "not working," leaving us unable to receive a refund via credit card. When we declined the offered cash refund, things took a dramatic turn for the worse. The female owner tried to shut us down by saying that this is a "small issue which does not need much drama". The male owner, in a fit of aggression, attempted to forcibly take the spoiled roti from my hand, demonstrating a complete lack of professionalism and customer service etiquette.
Instead of rectifying the situation or offering a sincere apology, we were subjected to verbal abuse and were forcibly ejected from the premises, with the outrageous suggestion to involve law enforcement. Not only did we leave empty-handed, but we were also left feeling deeply disrespected and mistreated.
In conclusion, my experience at Pakwaan Restaurant was nothing short of a nightmare. From the subpar food quality to the abysmal customer service and outright hostility displayed by the staff, I strongly advise against patronizing this establishment. A restaurant that fails to take responsibility for its mistakes and resorts to aggression towards customers does not deserve anyone's hard-earned...
Read moreI've been ordering from them regularly for a year and a half. I placed an order tonight and had my wife pick it up on her way home. When she arrived I noticed an extra dish on the bill and in the bag that I had not ordered - chicken vindaloo. When I called to let them know about the mistake I was just hoping they would offer a credit to use in future. The lady that answered the phone insinuated by her comment that I must have ordered it because it has a very distinct name and that it was odd that it would have been entered in error. Well, I've never ordered chicken vindaloo in my life. Lamb vindaloo yes. Chicken no. I know what I ordered.
I was initially told that if I didn't return it that same night I wouldn't get a refund. Well Pakwaan, it's the first night I've been able to sit down with my family for dinner all week. I am not going to get back into my car at dinner time and do a 25 minute return trip to correct your error for a single dish. It is the principle of the matter. I was then told I could return it the following day. Just terrible manners on their part over a silly thing. Why not just offer a credit to a customer?
In all fairness, their food is pretty good. But you have to have customer service...
Read moreIt was more than a delight to have decided to visit Pakwaan for dinner. Nothing short of a perfect score is what Pakwaan deserves when it comes to offering amazing food clubbed with great hospitality.
We tried the chicken lababhdaar and paneer makhni which was recommended to us by Seema, who helped us pick out just the right combination of dishes so that they wouldn't clash with each other by being too similar. Accompanying the main dishes were coconut and garlic naan which we odered and we thoroughly enjoyed the rich aromatic flavours that they contained.
Thoroughly well fed and well looked after, we can guarantee that the quality of the food and dedication of the team at Pakwaan is par excellence and I would definitely be visiting them again, with some more family and friends
Ps: the food was too yummy to get clicked, but I did click a pic of the dessert that was extended to us, courtesy of Seema. So, while you may or not be able to get this particular dessert for yourself, don't forget to check out Pakwaan for some amazing Indian food.
Thanks for the memorable evening, please do convey to your staff the same and I hope to see...
