Tripke Bakery Too — Restaurant in Kelowna

I needed a cake for my husband's birthday on short notice (...I know!) After doing some searching online, I came across Tripke Bakery Too. Their Instagram page had a photo of the perfect cake, so I picked up the phone and called the bakery. The woman who answered was so wonderful and helpful. I started to describe the cake I saw on their Instagram page and she immediately knew which one I wanted and put it aside for me to pick up later that day.

The bakery puts their cakes in a fantastic clamshell package to carry them home in. Very convenient for transporting and fit in the fridge quite well.

The cake...OMG! Let me tell you, this cake was so delicious!! Moist and flavourful. Not too sweet. The buttercream icing was the absolute best! The perfect amount of icing, sprinkles and everything else. My husband agreed and we both decided it was the best cake we've ever had. Disappointing cheesecake - I ordered a whole 10” plain cheesecake for my girlfriend’s birthday yesterday. I apologized to everyone who had it as I had expected it to be so good coming from a well known bakery. Everyone was surprised it wasn’t good. I thought maybe it’s some kind of traditional cheesecake I’ve never heard of cause it was nothing like usual delicious cheesecakes you get at restaurants etc… also the lady who I assume is the baker was short with me, a bit rude, over the phone. I just wanted to know what time it would be ready to pick up and obviously she was stressed over the 25 cakes she had to make so I guess she wanted me to know that. Still probably a great bakery but beware the Black Forest cake. They started adding a cookie crust to the base, no one in my family enjoyed it so on the next one we asked for no crust. Np they said and abided by the request. Unfortunately, instead of using whipped cream like all Black Forest cakes, they then swapped whipped cream out for some dense and overly sweet butter cream icing?? It was not good at all! It went from one if the best cakes years ago to landfill. It sat in fridge untouched after the first round and went to the pigs a week later. Just a word of caution after spending close to $50 and hoping for their old style awesome black forest cakes. It's not a Black Forest without whipped cream and cherry...
