Steve's Poké Bar — Restaurant in Kelowna

was so excited for the new poke bowl restaurant in town and had high hopes for Steve’s. I was impressed by the freshness of the ingredients! Not to mention, I’m a big fan of salmon, but the scallops are definitely my first choice at Steve’s!

However, the bowl was very bland—I couldn’t finish it even though I was very hungry. I had to add some salt and soy sauce just to finish half of it. Also, I wish the pineapples weren’t canned.

I have no issues with bland food, but what really disappointed me was the imitation crab—it’s so mushy! I saw a lot of people complaining about it, but I thought, “How can imitation crab go wrong?” Well, I was wrong. I hope you can find another supplier because the imitation crab makes the whole bowl slimy, almost like I was eating someone’s vomit 🤮. If you’re adding it to every bowl you sell… oh god.

But you know what—I’ll give the bowl another...

First Impression: I got the Maui Wowee Ahi Bowl. Going into it I was definitely excited, since I've been driving by the place everyday after work since January. The clerk was kind and asked if I had any food allergies! Which was quite good to hear. After getting the bowl,I tried each portion alone before mixing. I found the bowl to be quite difficult to mix everything together as it's very shallow. The flavours were definitely lacking, I could only taste the sweet in the creamy onion sauce, The furikake was noticeable. I personally think that the imitation crab is unnecessary, The best part was the ginger. I think I'll come back and build my own bowl to see if I can address the issues I had or if that's just the way the flavours come together.

My partner also was disappointed in the flavour and the lack of actual spice in the spicy mayo...

The staff are always friendly and helpful especially if you’ve never had Poke before.

Likewise, the ingredients they use is always Fresh and high quality! Apart from trying the Tofu and the Spam, everything is delicious when it comes to protein. These guys have been my go to when I’m craving sushi or just wanting a comforting bowl. Portion sizes are quite good for what you pay for.

Drinks are good. The Lychee Bliss is a good balance of Lychee and Black Tea.
