I am really surprised as to how this place has got 5 star reviews. I ordered 2 of the most famous items. Pad see ew with Chicken and green curry shrimp with rice. Pad see ew (noodles were very dry, chicken added was also too dry and chewy). No vegetables, very few greens. There should be more vegetables. Lacked taste too. Green curry on the other hand also lacked flavors but was better than the noodles. There was hardly any curry covering the rice. The only thing is that the portion size is good but the rice in the end was so dry that we had to discard it.
Update: Visited the store and ordered chicken dumplings and mango salad assuming mango salad at a Thai store to be an Asian style but I was startled to see just a few slices of mango and rest was chopped lettuce. R u kidding me? Lettuce for $8.55 before tax? Lettuce in a mango salad? When you are selling a mango salad at a Thai place it should be like a papaya salad at Thai restaurants, not some premade pre- cut lettuce. This was too shocking for me. And the person at the counter says I should have asked what's in it!! My question to you is why is it not mentioned? You have such a big display up but you couldn't mention what's in it or what it contains?? I don't eat lettuce so finally got it refunded, staff was not bad though but if you are at the store then please check before ordering. After seeing the salad, I wasnt sure of the Chicken Dumplings but they were...
Read moreI recently visited Thai Express in Kelowna and was blown away by the quality of their food and service. The restaurant is located in a convenient spot and has a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it the perfect place to grab a quick bite or sit down for a meal.
As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the friendly staff who were more than happy to answer any questions I had about the menu. They were attentive and helpful throughout my visit, ensuring that everything was to my satisfaction.
Now let's talk about the food - it was absolutely delicious! I ordered the Pad Thai with shrimp, and it was one of the best I've ever had. The noodles were perfectly cooked and had just the right amount of spice, while the shrimp were fresh and flavorful. The portion size was also very generous, making it a great value for the price.
In addition to the Pad Thai, I also tried their spring rolls and they were equally amazing. The rolls were crispy on the outside and filled with fresh vegetables and savory meat. It was clear that the ingredients were high quality and the dish was expertly prepared.
Overall, I highly recommend Thai Express in Kelowna to anyone looking for delicious and authentic Thai food. The staff are welcoming, the atmosphere is inviting, and the food is outstanding. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes...
Read moreHow on earth does this place have high ratings!? This is not Thai food this is something else.
To the owner, I want to ask what part of the chicken is it that you serve? It's definitely not breast or leg or thigh, what the heck is it? Neck, back? Please let me know in your reply.
Also that was the first time in a long time I've eaten previously frozen carrots, just not something I would imagine to be served these days. I ordered the basil fried rice, not sure why it's called that, there was zero basil in it at all, zero flavor of basil and just bland and unpleasant, and super oily, like hard to describe how oily and greasy it was.
To sum up the food, it was the absolute cheapest possible food that someone could serve that is edible, definitely not palatable, doesn't taste anything like any Thai food I've ever had in my entire life, but edible I suppose, I just won't ever eat it again. This was my first and last time eating here.
The staff were friendly and helpful though, I will say that. The first guy I talked to though had no idea what I was saying, which is ok but a language barrier makes it difficult when someone has specific questions about...
