The Jammery City — Restaurant in Kelowna

Took my family for a late breakfast, half our party was coming from an appointment so were a little delayed so we ordered drinks while we waited. Once everyone arrived we had to flag down the waitress to get service to which she came with the attitude that we were bothering her in some way. When we then ordered our breakfasts, it took 45 minutes to arrive, which had it been busy would have been understandable however there was a total of 10 tables seated 1/3 of which had been there when we first arrived and at least 3 servers. Coffee refills were not brought when asked for, hot water for tea was requested 3 times before it came, milks and juices never checked on and one of our party had to go to the kitchen area to request sides that were not brought and more drinks for those that were out. Service was terrible from beginning to end. Three of our 6 orders were wrong and over cooked but were eaten as it had taken so long to get the first time. Only up side was the beef dip was wonderful but that was the only saving grace of a over $200 order........Definately not the Jammery I used to love and...

Being a Kelowna local you always hear about the jamery and how it’s the best breakfast in town so my partner and i tried it out. We got seated hidden away in a corner with a sticky table, to which we had to clean ourselves as every attempt to flag a server was unsuccessful. When we got our food it was put down and the server ran off so fast we couldn’t even tell her my partner had received the wrong item. He and I both tried to hail multiple servers (the second time we couldn’t get service in our visit) while our meals were going cold to fix the issue so we could eat together. The table next to us even took note of the rushed and inattentive servers while some others tables had arrived, been served and were on their way well before our meals had arrived. Finally we got it sorted and got to try our food which was good but not good enough to completely redeem the service. For the price I wish I’d have cooked breakfast at home and made mimosas so I could count on a clean table, a hot meal made the way i requested and not spending my leisure time trying to hunt...

I had breakfast at The Jammery City and ordered a full meal with eggs, toast, and potatoes. I couldn’t finish all of it, so I asked for a takeout box and packed the leftovers myself. I placed the container neatly on the table, paid the bill (even tipped 15%), and went to the restroom with my friend for just 3–5 minutes.

When we came back, our table had already been cleared — and my packed food had been thrown away. No one checked in with us or asked if we were done. When I asked about it, the server didn’t apologize, and the manager told me that “if something is left on the table and the customer is gone, we assume it’s trash unless told otherwise.”

Honestly, I was surprised by the lack of basic communication. The food was clearly packed and not trash. Instead of owning the mistake, they just handed me a small portion of potatoes, which didn’t make up for the loss or poor experience.

This felt careless and dismissive, especially after I paid and tipped. I won’t be coming back, and I hope the management reflects on how they handle situations like this...
