I have been going to this restaurant for nearly 3 years now, as you could assume my boyfriend and I have spent hundreds of dollars here and we’ve always absolutely loved the food and staff. Recently I had placed an order on Uber Eats after getting home from a 8 hour shift, I was very excited to eat my favourite ramen. When the order arrived it was the mazemen (vegetarian dish). I was very disappointed with this because I paid $30 for uber delivery to get a dish full of eggplant and peppers, in which I don’t eat either, I tried to force myself to eat it, but I couldn’t, I had to throw it out and I was very upset. I then tried to get a refund from uber eats, they refused. I then spoke to the staff at Sansotei multiple times on different days trying to receive any type of compensation for the mistake. After speaking with Sansotei, they also told me that I cannot get the meal I initially paid for and I will not be receiving any compensation either. This is very disappointing considering I’ve been a loyal customer, and being an individual who’s worked in customer service for countless years it was very surprising that I was being refused compensation. $30 completely wasted. This was a horrible experience and I’ve decided I won’t be eating at Sansotei anymore due to the fact that I do not feel valued as a customer and I deserved compensation for receiving the wrong meal that I didn’t even eat. I still love the food here, however I won’t take my business somewhere that treats...
Read moreAs regulars who are here almost every week. I was utterly dissapointed and shocked at the managers behaviour here. If i could give NO stars i would. My husband and I arrived at sansotei at 3pm today and ask for a sit down service. We were told that it would be a fifteen minute wait and that we could get a table by then. By 3:25 we saw that the table that was promised to us, was being cleared and wiped down being set up for the next customers, according to the server that would be us. At 3:43pm we were still in the car waiting for a call when i decided to go in and speak to the server who assisted us to see how much longer it would be. He let us know that it would be an additional 20-30 minutes because his manager asked to reserve the table that were next in line for, for a couple who were not even in the area. We had a bunch of other options that we could have gone to, but instead waited the 40+ minutes only to then be told we couldnt sit at the table that we WERE WAITING ALMOST AN HOUR FOR. Sansotei has left me dissapointed, extremely hungry, and upset with nothing to say except for "the manager will not make any exceptions since the customers are high priority." I dont think that was fair, or even the right thing to do to customers. I dont think my husband and i will be returning here...

We often eat at Sansotei locations in the GTA and were happy to find that the Kitchener location was just as good. No more long drives back to Toronto for a bowl of decent ramen!
Our usual orders: Tonkotsu & Tonkotsu Black with thick noodles, and a side order of Zangi (their take on fried chicken, served with a lemon). Food was as good as we remembered it.
Given the circumstances (they're still in their 'Soft Open' phase, as they've only been open for 5 days), service was efficient, and the staff were all extremely friendly and accomodating despite the fact that we decided to waltz in 45 minutes before they were set to close for the day.
The only downsides: this location is VERY small. Your best bet is to drop by with 2-4 people at most. Be prepared to write your name down and wait for a bit during peak hours. Take-out is also an option.
They do have a cool 'bar' area for you to sit down at, which has windows that look into the kitchen for your viewing pleasure, if you're into that.
Obligatory COVID precaution addenum: they had sign-in sheets for safety purposes, sanitizer at each table, and thoroughly sanitized each table (chairs included!) before allowing new parties to sit down. Tables are spaced adequately from...
