We have been here three times since they have opened, and as a Turkish person, I am quite disappointed. The service has been good each time and employees are friendly. However, the cleanliness of this place is questionable. The cutlery, tea cups and menus are not clean and have clearly not been washed and sanitized properly. The inside of the restaurant is also lacking proper hygiene. We went to check out the new patio and were shocked to see garbage and construction equipment near the tables. It was nothing like the video displayed online and was quite dusty. We were told they would wipe it down for us however we couldn’t stand the uncleanliness. If you are promoting your patio online and expect lots of traffic, it should be kept clean at all times, not just when someone wants to sit down. The tea cups we were given had clear fingerprints on them as well as grease stains, and looked like they have not been washed between uses. I can see this place becoming an AHS problem very soon.

The food was alright, definitely not authentic in any way and I would not say it’s the best Turkish food you can find in the city. Why even add a non-Turkish salad to your menu if you promote “authentic”. Their social media makes it look like this is a first of its kind Turkish restaurant, however the dishes, menu, set up are the same as any other in the city and are no different in any way. This is pretty disappointing to see as a Turkish person as our culture and cuisine has once again failed to be represented authentically and without any Middle Eastern influences, and in a unique way. The dishes, menu, descriptions - all the same with every “Turkish” place in Edmonton. Absolutely...

Pretty obvious that all the reviews here are fake/friends.

Walked in at dinner time tonight to a completely empty restaurant. Was not greeted properly, the staff just kind of looked at me. Eventually, a young man shuffled to the till and asked what I wanted. Many/most common items were not available (no shawarma??). Felt like I was more of a nuisance than a customer, was just trying to show some support a new business. No cutlery, sauces, or even napkins were offered or included.

Got home to realized they forgot to include any bread or pita. Did not want to eat Hummus and Garlic dip, with a spoon, so I called them to clarify. They were indifferent about the situation but confirmed they had forgotten to pack it. Ended driving 25mins back. Once I got there, not only were they unapologetic but made to feel like it was my bad for them forgetting...maybe they were expecting an apology? haha

The food itself was pretty mediocre, at best. Portions were mid, quality nothing special or unique. I wish I could say more but there wasn't much available to try. Word of advice to the owners/management. Take your staff to Turquaz to get an idea of what you're up against- food wise, and how things should be run- customer service wise.

Real Talk, this place is not going to make it. With Turquaz, Root of Beruit, Sahara, Pita Bake, Paramount, and Best Kabob in the surrounding area....this...

I should have left a review the first time I had there food many months ago. I usually get the same thing. The chicken kabob platter(amazingly delicious rice, fries, salad and traditional breads)garlic sauce for dipping .It’s amazing. I’ve ordered their platter for take out on 4 different occasions ate in once and my daughter ordered twice for take out.I always wanted to try their beef kabobs so today (Aug4th)my birthday,I called in and ordered 2 chicken kabobs and 2 beef kabobs. I’m amazed at the portions for only $8 per kabob. I get there too pick up my order and the young fella at the counter informs me that there’s no beef.No biggie.I’ll order it next time.So I ordered four chicken kabob. I also ordered a side of rice when I called in but canceled it when I got there. I paid and he offered me to take a seat and bring me some tea. I kindly declined and said I’ll just wait in my van.The young fella was so kind and polite and said he’d bring my order out to me.Well!! Let me tell you.He came out with a loaded bag of food.My original order of only 4 kabobs.A sizeable order of rice , that amazing traditional bread.A huge side of garlic sauce (3 big ice cream scoops)and 2 Fricken Pepsis.Thank you very very much Ali Baba for serving up constantly delicious food and for what you did for me today. You just solidified me and my family as a dedicated and loyal...

We were greeted by Hassan who I’m assuming is the owner and we were seated promptly. We ordered both the chicken and cheese pide, adana kebab, and some chicken wings. Hassan brought us freshly baked bread with ezme and tzatziki as starters (totally free). The bread was sooo good and the ezme was especially phenomenal. The food came out fairly quickly and wow, what amazing flavours! The adana kebab was my favourite, and was cooked perfectly with great charcoal flavour. Loved the wings too, and you could order them individually instead of having to get a large wing platter. Great side option! One thing I would mention is that I expected the pide to be a bit crispier, but I think because of the amount of cheese, it was a bit too moist. Not worth taking a star away, just a personal preference. Hassan was funny and friendly and made us feel so welcome. He shook our hands as we left the restaurant. Will be back if we are ever in the area. You must go here if you like good food!!

Ali Baba Turkish Grill is an absolute gem that delivers an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the mouthwatering aroma of grilled kebabs. The spacious and welcoming atmosphere set the perfect tone for our visit, and the staff's kindness and attentiveness made us feel right at home. The food was outstanding — the kebabs were cooked to perfection, the appetizers were fresh and flavorful, and the kunefe was rich, full of flavour and satisfying. To top it off, the Turkish coffee and tea were excellent. Truly, this was the best Turkish food and coffee we have had in along time. With amazing food, warm service, and a cozy ambiance, Ali Baba Turkish Grill is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic Turkish cuisine. Highly recommended!
