In one word, I would describe this place as WOW. First of all, I went to order and they were so respectful and polite. The workers greeted me so kindly and they were welcoming. The prepared my food quickly and everything I wanted was available and fresh. The potatoes are constantly being fried so I know it’s fresh and the taste is just impeccable. The rice was so delicious, fluffy and FRESH, not dry like the other middle eastern restaurants (Amir 🤢). Actually I can confidently say that it’s the best rice i’ve had from any middle eastern fast food place (compared to Amir, Boustan, Basha). Torino definitely has the best rice and potatoes compared to them. Last but definitely not least, let’s talk about their chicken. They should call it king chicken because it’s made for kings. Montrealers love middle eastern food and I’m no exception. I’ve had my share of the delicious food from the usual quick spots like Boustan, Amir, Basha, Kebeh Kebab, and my favorite, Abu Elias. This spot supposedly stands a notch higher because they use higher quality ingredients. Grillades Torino(Laval), takes mall food to another level by grilling the meats right in front of you. I ordered the chicken and beef plate which comes with 3 choices, I picked white rice, brocoli and vegetables, and the fattoush salad as sides. The beef was unexpectedly tender and medium cooked to my request, was it a filet mignon cut? Sure taste like it. The chicken was also a hit, juicy and tasty. However, 2 sides orders were misses. Not sure if the cook had an off day but both, the brocoli & vegetables side and the fattoush salad, were very salty and inedible. Very fixable, just go easy with the salt. At around 7:20 on a Wednesday, there was no one in the line when I ordered burger trio. I sensed the impatience and negativity with the girl who takes your order (she was in a Torino T-shirt). Anyway, waited at around 20 minutes, meanwhile 3 people who ordered after me were served. While 4th one’s order was being taken (which same girl’s attitude was same to the poor guy), the cashier noticed I was looking for my order and she told me it takes time to cook a burger. Their reaction is this insult instead of ‘sorry’ or ‘we didn’t forget you”. I canceled my order same minute. According to my gf watching this from her table, a lot of people in the line left one after another since they take ages.
