My fiancé and I have been wanting to try Table 51 for a while now. We finally did yesterday and, I'm so glad we did.
To begin, the decor and ambiance are really nice and deliver a beautiful urban chic atmosphere.
Our waitress, Fannie, was very friendly and helped us pick our meal. As a starter, we had a Cesar salad. For the main course, Fannie recommended the Mediterranean Grilled Chicken. We added a side of homemade tater tots and we had their homemade key lime pie for dessert.
The salad was fresh and topped with just enough of their delicious homemade Cesar dressing. The Mediterranean Grilled Chicken was filled with flavors. A beautiful combination of goat cheese, hummus, crispy roasted chickpeas and grilled vegetables. The tater tots were really good as well; crispy on the outside and soft on the inside served with spicy ketchup. It gives your meal a nice kick.
Last but not least: the homemade key lime pie. Oh my was it delicious!! It screamed freshness. The lime flavoring was natural, the whipped cream was so fluffy and light. My personal favorite was the crust. It was crispy yet one bite into it is enough to make it melt in your mouth and deliver deliciousness with a nice salted caramel after taste. The entire combination is synonymous with dessert bliss. I'm so happy we didn't skip dessert. It was worth every calorie.
Finally, we couldn't leave without thanking Peter; the owner. What's not to thank him for? Great atmosphere, outstanding service, delicious food, decent portions and great prices. We are definitely...
Read moreI’ve been going to Table 51 for many years now; not too often, but enough to be a decent customer. I recently went and although my waiter and my experience were good overall, the portions seem to have shrunk a little and prices are more expensive than at the KEG.
I was asked 4 times by the waiter if I want to get another bottle of flat water (which is 10$ ouch). No wonder he kept asking. I already had sprite and water. The braised beef was extremely tender however, the sauce/gravy could use some tweaking and so could the sides it comes with. It feels too stingy for the price and the dish was served warm, not hot. The lobster tacos pretty good with the side sauce but, they are also stingy on the lobster as it’s practically inexistent. The starter cesar salad is pretty good but portion is small.
I know times are tough in this economy and that rent in your local is astronomical, but if the prices on your menu go up significantly noticeable, make sure the dish portion and quality follows. The menu should’ve definitely been enhanced and reimagined during the long closure. It feels like it’s missing some pizzazz.
Overall, I enjoyed my experience as usual however, 230$ + 36$ tip, for 2 people with NO alcohol ordered is a bit crazy. I’m not cheap when it comes to going out to eat but this review summarizes my feeling about this...
Read moreWe went out for mother's day. Needless to say it was busy and we did anticipate the service would be slower than usual. I ordered a meal from the list of Mother's day special which was the grilled Mediterranean chicken. The soup was really good but the main course meal was slightly disappointing. The chicken was a bit dry, the rapini overcooked. I thought I was the only one but turns out my sister-in-law had ordered the same meal and was equally disappointed. The waiter was very courteous but was off at times regarding the service. We waited over 30 minutes for him to being our dessert. He had forgotten to take the coffee and tea order and had to come back a second time. He servered one of us coffee in a chipped cup and forgot to bring us the spoons with the napkins. Essentially we had to remind him to bring items or do things throughout the evening that would have been a routine process for any waiters or waitresses from any restaurant establishments. The overall experience was a bit of a letdown based on the feedback we've heards from different medias including social medias. For the price paid there are better options value...
