It was my birthday celebration 🎂 🎈 and we love sushi 🍣, the food, means the sushi in this place. It is indeed AMAZING in capital, and prices are really accordingly. Every dish is really well presented, and the sauces are really putting another step up every dish presented. That's why I enjoyed as few times in my life the "Thon Katsu" served over a rainbow 🌈 of 3 sauces, the way that when you pass a piece over the sauces, is an explosive combination that ends with the Thon melting 🫠 in your mouth, was a really pleasant feeling rarely felt, because not always the expectations are unexpectedly over passed, others signature sushi dishes were order, all with the same pleasant sensation. But... the service... the waitres are nicer and explained all in detail, even they are quite professionals, but the dishes rotation it's slow as I ever saw in my life and after works for almost 24 years in Hotel's restaurants service, we booked for 6,30 and the drinks arrived 40 min later and first dishes after an hour... well, short story, we leave at 9,50 without ordering dessert 🍨 because it was toooo long the waiting, but I have to say that they have the delicacy of bringing an slice of Kate with a candle to sign HBD. My critics are mostly about time, that it's the only thing we can't recover, all the rest you can have it back.

Went in alone sat at the bar and ordered a Sapporo beer. Then got the menu reviewed it decided on the Omakase menu . Was told it need to be for two people . Then was told by server he could pick out something . Told him as long is it matched the cost of $80 for the Omakase. He then came back and said the chef they could do the Omakase for one. To me it’s yes or no but doing what was done is not right. This is the only reason plus the noise level that it got 4 and not 5 stars. Food was excellent and good value for quality. Server was nice over all but also looked pretty busy not sure why he had his phone out all the time when he went by figured maybe he’s taking phone orders ? Kind of odd. I’d recommend the Omakase for sure . Maybe Saturday night is super busy so if you like it a little quieter maybe a weekday? Don’t know as I don’t live here. Best Japanese restaurant experience in Montreal so far and I’ve had Japanese in Japan and many cities.

After the entrance you get into a magnificent traditional interior, the decorations are on a high level, also the second floor with separate rooms is insanely interesting. If you want to fully immerse yourself in the Japanese atmosphere I recommend booking a table there (open only on Friday and Saturday). The food is delicious, beautifully served. The chef is clearly a master of his craft. Everything I tried was cooked deliciously. The only thing I didn't like was the improper scheduling of staff time. The restaurant load was 60-75% and there were exactly two waiters. In my opinion, this is wrong. Due to this we had to wait a long time for the bill and payment. Overall a great place, highly recommended.

We have been clients of Mikasa for over 20 years - we usually order from Mikasa Chisai on Samson (which has never missed on quality). We reserved a table on the 31st and with the closing of the dining rooms from the government, I cancelled our reservation and placed our order of almost $200 in advance on the morning of the 30th since I had a feeling that the government was going to close down our restaurants. The quality was horrendous. The tuna tataki usually served in 8 slices were small shavings of leftover fish dumped into a small pile. We ordered the sushi pizza, which we were charged for and never received. I spoke to the restaurant and interestingly enough, they knew that they did not put it in our order but charged us anyways. I will never go back to this place and will speak to the management directly at Chisai regarding this issue. Update to the rude reply from the owner below: check your TouchBistro orders for the combined 2 orders placed: 2442176 & 2442655 - I called the restaurant 3x to discuss this issue and was either placed on hold forever and being hung up on.. I even left my number to discuss politely and not...

Booked our reservation for 6:30. Ordered by 6:45(latest), by 7:10 we asked where our edamame & calamari was. 7:25 we asked where is our food & ordered two tequila sunrises. 7:35 finally our edamame showed up & I asked again where is our calamari & the rest of our order. Server said some other server gave our calamari to someone else & he "rushed" ordered us a new one. 7:45 our drinks & calamari showed up. drinks had almost zero alcohol inside. We asked if there was any space heaters since it was getting cold. they said no. Finally at 7:55 our sushi order came, but still waiting for my wife's order of fried chicken teriyaki. That finally showed up at 8:05. asked for our check at 8:15. took server about 15 mins to bring us our check. Overall the food was okay, nothing to make me recommend this place to anyone over. Get some better overall service & space heaters. Every other restaurant had them around us. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I get that we all have been dying to get back out to dine, but with this kind of service I'd rather stay home & save over $100 plus the dealing with the...
