Mr. T Bistro Viet — Restaurant in Laval (administrative region)

First off, I would like to say that I absolutely recommend this place but for now perhaps for delivery. I have been going/ordering from there since it opened and was always satisfied with the customer service.

However, last night was the most unpleasant experience I’ve had! The guy at cash was utterly rude. I advised ses him at cash that I had a discount code to which he indicated that I should have told him when I ordered on the phone. I then said I was unaware as previously I had done the same and the young lady simply gave me a new bill. This seemed to have aggravated him greatly as his behaviour became hostile. He did redo the bill but not without abruptly pushing the stool on which he put the bag on and proceeded to slap down the sandwiches. I was so shocked by his aggressiveness that I told him to not bother with closing the bag.. he pushed the stool as if it had done anything to him. Got in the car to realise my drink was wrong as he probably didn’t really pay attention to me while ordering on the phone (he was already rude on the phone but i blamed it on the fact that I was looking for my words but hey it’s customer service). It took me a while to decide if it were worth even going back and have to deal with him again.. but I since I paid for it, I went back in.. Ultimately I gave up as there were more people but never did I feel so tense going there.

I'll start by saying that this place DELIVERS. On Uber eats, on doordash and it delivers on quality and taste. Who would eat at a Subway knowing this place exists? Seriously.

This place is incredibly delicious, I'll start by reviewing one item at a time. I was fortunate enough to order a hibiscus and cranberry Bubble tea, and a traditional Bahn mi sandwich.

Delivery was very fast, which is always a plus.

The sandwich was FRESH. And I mean, the bread was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. The ingredients were PERFECTLY balanced, and the flavour was outstanding. 10/10 Bahn Mi.

The bubble tea: unlike many competitors, you do not have the option to choose the level of sweetness of the bubble tea. But that does not matter. They seem to understand the balance, so my bubble tea wasn't too sweet, or too tart. It was perfect for my taste buds. The only downside? The menu selection on Uber eats made it a little confusing ;) wasn't sure if I was getting actual tapioca / boba with it, but for the flavour, that honestly doesn't matter and it was far superior than chatime or other bubble tea chains.

I've gone to Mr.T a couple of times before, and had delivery from there as well. The food is fresh and authentic, tastes like mother makes it! The bubbleteas have flavors no other place have but that I find incredibly on brand and national (Durian, Viet Coffee, etc). They're delicious!! Especially the durian one, as someone who LOVES durian but can't seem to find many places that offer that flavor of sweets, this helps scratch my itch.

I'm a bit sad the the shop doesn't look as cozy as it did a couple of years ago in 2019 when I last visited, it was smaller, had many paintings on the wall and the lighting was very warm. Now, it has expanded a bit which surprised me! I'm happy the shop is clearly successful, but the walls of the extension are very bland and cold compared to the old décor, I'd love to see a little more life in there :)
