Restaurant Solymar Laval — Restaurant in Laval (administrative region)

Very disappointing !

We reserved on purpose for December 31st at this restaurant because we were told on the phone the atmosphere will be amazing and there will be a DJ, dancers and danse floor to celebrate the new year. None told us we will be placed in the basement of the restaurant. Mind they weren’t even able to find our reservation ( made 10 days ago in advance) at first. I would strongly suggest to close basement floor for next celebration event at this restaurant.

Throughout the night, we felt there were 2 celebrations happening simultaneously in the restaurant, one on the main floor for new year festivities and us in the basement coming for a community meal in a basement of a church. Although at end, the organizer remembered us and send dancers to cheer up the atmosphere but the night was already ruined and whole experience is not justifiable for us to pay the same admission price than those on main floor.

We waited 2:30 hours for our food, which is in part understandable due to the number of guests in the restaurant at day. But the food was very saltier than usually, and felt not worth the price of holiday special menu. it came out to $100 + per...

We went to the Laval Location Finally got to try this place and it did not disappoint. The place itself is very big, 2 floors. And they also have a patio. We went Saturday night and it was full house Waitress and staff in general were very friendly They have a selection of drinks/beer/wine. This place plays Spanish music which is very nice. All the drinks we had were very good The Pina colada comes in the pineapple. We ordered a lychee martini and the best I've ever had The only down about this is that it took abitt of time to get our food but it was worth the wait because the food was delicious. Very big portion and decent prices for everything. It was so hard to choose what to get because the menu had all of kinda of Peruvian dishes. We ordered the seafood paella, the Peruvian ceviche, mussels with Safron, calamari, garlic shrimps..etc Everything was amazing other then the calamari, it was average.

Would definitely recommend this place if you are willing to try food from Peru.

Cannot wait to go back to try other plates of there menu. Definitely will try the meat plates they looked reply good

The worst experience ever, we went as a large group for new years, horrible service, we arrived at 9:30 pm they took orders for 1 table then 20 min later came to ours to not even take one persons order and left for about 40 min to take other orders i litterally had to chase the waiter, we finally got our order written it was then 10:45, we received our drinks (WARM BEER) at 11:15 and other half of the table never received theirs, the other table from our group were already eating their main dish we never received our entrees at 11:45pm we cancelled and left, our friend that organized this had to make a fuss for them to credit our drinks, we at this point didnt care we just wanted to leave, i mean its fair to credit us but even that seemed like a fuss i went upstairs my family got their credit apparently after 20 min of negociating ….. Happy new years. Timmies it is…..: A waste of time. Never again i really hope the owner sees this and i see there is many other similar reviews.. if i would of seen these before i would of never drove an hour...
