My autistic nephew made reservations for 16 people. First there was 15 chairs WAIT. server came brought water. The guests arrived. WAIT. Here’s where the shit show starts, some of us ordered entrées some of us did not. THE waiter ordered the entrées and food at the same time and brought them at the same time even though the request was made entrées first WAIT AGAIN, you felt kind of rushed even my aunt said I think they want us out. we asked returning the main meal as we do not want it while we’re eating our entrées.WAIT . It was fish and chips. They returned it to the heating lamp and we finished our entrées. WAITED AGAIN they brought the same meal that was sitting for 15 min under lamp.I asked for fresh fish and chips as I saw one of the managers touched the top of the three plates With his finger to see if they were still warm. WAIT AGAIN This is not a practice that should be maintained you do not touch your clients food. In the meantime, one of the children by mistake knocked over one of the water bottles that is made of glass the bottle shattered with a loud pop. The children’s food and some of the adults food was right around the area that the bottle shattered in normal practice you’ll remove the foods so that there’s no shards of glass that could’ve fallen into the food, but that was not the case. It took forever for somebody to come and clean it up While the children were picking up the glass look mommy. Here’s another piece of glass. My Autistic nephew was told to hold his plate while they clean the table and back away from the table that you just don’t do that. The guests help the waitress clean the mess. I asked my waiter, which was nowhere to be found when I did find him for water. The response was they’re making it.say what ?.they’re making water first I’ve ever heard of that. WAIT AGAIN finally receive the water. I spoke with the manager told him that what’s going on is unacceptable. I still have not yet received my main meal. Everybody is finished. We are waiting for three fish and chips. They bring them out again for all the confusion. It’s the same one as before I refuse again another time. I asked for a glass with some ice in it for water that took 27 minutes. I had to remind him twice When I spoke to the manager he advised me that he washes his hands in between every meal he touches. being a restaurant owner previously when you stand at the kitchen, you check the quality of the food coming out and the placement of the food on the plate to ensure that it looks appetizing. You do not touch the top of every piece of food that comes out of the kitchen. That is just a no by the time all this is said and done they decide to bring out the cake for my nephew‘s birthday well, the dirty dishes from the meal are still on the table the glasses everything is still on the table and now we’re into the dessert. We finished and the manager said he would not charge us for the three meals that we did not eat But hence . He put them in a box to go. The whole experience in this restaurant was atrocious we sat where the kitchen was. I could see everything that was going on the waiter, apologized and apologized and apologized, but that did not correct. The situation for the evening. This is one place I will not put my feet in again And neither will the 16 people...
Read moreA Lesson in Horrible Service at La Cage! My family and I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at La Cage located at 3035 Boulevard le Carrefour that I feel compelled to share. We arrived on a Sunday evening around 6:30 PM, expecting a pleasant dining experience with my wife and our two young children. Unfortunately, what we encountered was far from satisfactory.
Upon arrival, the restaurant was notably not busy, which made the events that unfolded even more baffling. The hostess informed us that there would be a 15-20 minute wait for a table. Since the wait time seemed reasonable, we decided to stick around. However, as the minutes ticked by, it became clear that something was amiss.
After patiently waiting for 25 minutes, I approached the hostess to inquire about our table. To my surprise, she told me that she had just spoken with the manager, who decided they do not take walk-ins. This was the same hostess who had initially told us to wait for 15-20 minutes! When I asked why she had given us the wait time, she lamely responded that her manager had changed his mind. This inconsistency was not only frustrating but also highly unprofessional.
Seeking clarification, I asked to speak directly with the manager. To my astonishment, the manager turned out to be a man who had been casually standing near us, chatting with friends the entire time. He was dressed in old shorts and a shabby t-shirt, attire more suited for yard work than managing a restaurant. With a peach fuzz mustache and a nonchalant demeanor, he looked anything but a professional.
When I confronted him about the misleading wait time and the refusal to seat us, his response was infuriatingly dismissive. He apologized insincerely, stating that despite the restaurant not being busy, they were short-staffed, and even he had to help out with tables. This explanation only added to our frustration, as it was clear he had no intention of managing or assisting efficiently.
The entire experience reeked of unprofessionalism and a blatant lack of respect for customers' time. Being made to wait for nothing, with no clear communication or genuine apology, was beyond unacceptable. La Cage has lost our business for good, and I strongly advise others to avoid this establishment if they value their time and expect even a modicum of decent service.
In summary, our visit to La Cage at 3035 Boulevard le Carrefour was marked by misleading information, a dismissive and poorly presented manager, and a total lack of customer care. It was a horrendous experience that I wouldn't wish on any dining party. Avoid this place...
Read moreOrdered take out, cost 147$... My burger patty from the mushroom burger was burned and all I could taste from it was the burnt food taste, it was gross. I also took the pepper sauce steak and replaced the fries with a poutine, they gave me 6 pieces of cheese curd and a small cup of sauce. The steak was good but the portion was less than half of the picture in the menu, they also somehow burned the fries, the taste of them was horrible and neither me or my spouse could finish the fries in our meal. My spouse got seafood that was good, but not for the price, her fried cauliflowers were not fried at all everything was soft and undercooked. she also got a chicken wrap, there was 2pieces of chicken in there, really small one and the rest was entirely salad, it looked like someone dumped an entire bag wet salad in there, the wrap was soaked.
Really not worth going back there ever again, I was shocked to see the bill come to 147$ for the smallest portions ever and the worst quality of food I've ever seen, none of us could finish our meal, we felt sick eating it. The only thing they did right in our entire meal was the steak and calamari. They also apologized to us for how long it took them to make our food, I can believe them when they say it was long, they burned everything by overcooking it then probably forgot the cauliflowers and just rushed them, not frying them long enough...
With the cost of living today, it's outrageous that you go out once in the year and it costs you 147$ for something that is not even made properly and not even close to what was advertised. So now I gotta make something else at home too on top of it since it was not enough to feed 2 person decently at that price. Forgot to say it cost 147$ because we were asked by the staff to give a tip on a take out order of 15% minimum. So basically gave them tip to congratulate the cook for not cooking my...
