Very surprised by how good this place was. An actual japanese couple runs it which Im sure helps.
Fish quality was great. As good as the best in edmonton on a good day (not the new mssm but its also not $100 a person).
Rolls were good too. A couple had more sauce than our liking but thats pretty standard now.
The wasabi was also REAL wasabi. Its the cheaper real wasabi from like T&T that just has a bit of real wasabi but you can taste the difference. Havent seen real wasabi anywhere in alberta so far (and only some of the more expensive places in Vancouver).
Ramen was mediocre to be honest. Never had a ramen at a non ramen specific place that was better than just ok so I wont hold that against them much. Meat quality was just average and not the greatest flavour. Ramen noodles were pretty average. Broth was ok.
Will have to warn people as well it is family run so just an old couple, the wife doesnt speak much english so service is slow. They do the best they can but be prepared to wait.
All in all though, the place was fantastic. Did not expect a good sushi place in Lethbridge but I would go to this place in edmonton, calgary, maybe even toronto. Highlight of our trip...
Read moreMy husband and I have come to this restaurant on many occasions. The food is fantastic. The restaurant is run by a mom and son duo. The mother is adorable, speaks very little English but is always so gracious. For the little Japanese I understand, she is always thanking us for coming in. The son works hard and is dedicated. For how large the restaurant is and the fact that it has only been the two of them, they are wonderful. The wait time may be longer than most restaurants but the food is prepared with a lot of diligence. Definitely worth the way! The mother does such a wonderful job and the flavours are phenomenal.
If you’re looking for sushi, it isn’t my favourite place in town but their hot dishes are exceptional. The best you can get!
We have really enjoyed this place and will continue to go! Highly,...

The moment I stepped in, I was impressed by the clean, inviting atmosphere. The star of the show was undoubtedly the food. Their well-cooked chicken was tender and bursting with flavor, while the fried salmon was crispy perfection. The complete meal, including a fresh salad and comforting miso soup, showcased the chef’s attention to detail. Service was attentive and friendly, adding to the overall pleasant experience. For the quality and portion sizes, the prices are more than fair. If you’re craving genuine Japanese cuisine in Lethbridge, look no further than this hidden gem. Koko is...
