The moment you step into this intimate 50-seat restaurant, you are embraced by a warm staff and atmosphere that sets the stage for a remarkable culinary journey.
Despite a full house, the impeccable service provided by the hostess, wait staff, and the talented bartender, Morgan, exceeded expectations, ensuring a seamless and delightful experience.
The harmonious dance of precision and care displayed by the staff, especially the skilled bartender, as they meticulously crafted complex cocktails and dishes, was truly impressive.
Each plate and drink served felt like a work of art, tailored to delight and surprise the discerning diners.
Opting for the pasta special, a masterful creation of homemade fettuccine in a tomato cream sauce with savory sausage topped with pecorino cheese, and fresh parsley, paired with a Caesar salad that boasted fresh, crisp greens dressed in a perfectly balanced dressing garnished with crisp prosciutto pieces, and perfectly prepared croutons was a culinary revelation.
The pasta dish, a culinary masterpiece, showcased an exquisite blend of flavors that lingered long after the last bite.
It was evident that Executive Chef Ryan and his wife Morgan operated as a seamless team, ensuring that every aspect of the dining experience was nothing short of perfection.
Ryan and Morgan's culinary prowess, exceptional service, and unwavering dedication to excellence shone through every aspect of the dining experience at Bourbon and Butter.
Their passion and commitment to their craft were palpable in every dish served, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of dining there.
My anticipation for a return visit to this culinary haven in Lethbridge is already building, eager to discover more of their gastronomic delights.
Bourbon and Butter is not merely a restaurant; it is a culinary odyssey filled with innovation and flavor.
Allow yourself to indulge in this exceptional dining experience, take in the inviting ambiance, and let the talented team at Bourbon and Butter guide you through a gastronomic adventure that will leave a lasting imprint on your palate and memory.

Read moreAll I have to say is, WOW! My wife and I chose Bourbon & Butter for our first date night out since the pandemic hit, and it was awesome. Our server Allison was lovely and did a great job of guiding us through the amazing menu.
We started with the bone marrow and the boar belly which were both incredible (the honey-sesame dressing on the slaw served with the boar belly brought everything together so well -- if you couldn't tell, I'm a big slaw fan).
We then moved to the soup and salad course which were also both very good (the presentation of the Greek Salad was more along the lines of a modern "tartine", served on a piece of toast with creamed feta and a delicious olive tapenade: non-traditional as far as salads go, but a pleasant surprise nonetheless).
For our mains, my wife had the sablefish which came out with a beautifully-crisped skin, on a bed of bok choi and a mix of other vegetables (very yummy), while I opted for the duck confit. Having made duck confit at home in the past, I know how much of a labor of love it is, but these guys pulled it off so well: the duck was tender and flavorful, the skin was crispy, and everything on the plate worked so well with everything else. I was especially surprised at the bits of chorizo that complemented the cherry-blackberry compote so well (I'm also absolutely going to steal the "white bean garlic mashed potatoes" idea, they worked brilliantly together). Hearkening back to the early days of Plum, I was surprised to see a confit tomato gracing the dish: it really brought me back to the good old days!
Finally, to cap off the evening, we opted for a dessert of the Pot de Creme (an extremely decadent, luscious, chocolate custard) as well as the Bleu Cheese Cheesecake (we were both skeptical, but this turned out to be so delicious!). In particular, the delicate notes of bleu cheese worked so well with the coffee grounds and honey present in the crust (a combination I recognize from the cheese plate at Plum, circa 2016 and another nod to this restaurant's history), and the rhubarb compote took all the complex flavors and grounded them in a really exceptional way.
I know this is a long review, but we were so genuinely impressed with the food and the service at Bourbon and Butter that I feel more folks ought to branch out a little from the standard "Lethbridge" fare and treat themselves to an amazing night out here. Hats off to the staff, we'll be...
Read moreMy friend and I went to eat out. Got confusing with the amount of waitresses who introduced themselves to us. The first one said she'd be back to explain the menu to us but never came back. We got Gabriel after that and she did very well. Really nice, sweet, and personable. She took the time to explain and re-explain the menu. She even offered to have the sauces and such put off to the side when we were unsure of them. We agreed and were grateful for it as the sauces weren't that great. The food was good and I really liked the coconut rice. I couldn't finish all the chicken and had one full piece left, a carrot, and some rice. Gabriel said she'd put it in a to go container. My friend got the pork chop. The portion size was smaller but it costed more so that seemed strange to me but she enjoyed it. I'd say the food was a bit overpriced for what you get. The jerk pork also had a sauce that didn't compliment the pork at all. Too strong. The pork itself was good. The atmosphere was very noisy with the amount of people there (couldn't be helped, obviously). The lighting is terrible. Way too dim. We left after paying and then I remembered I never got my leftovers. Went back in and Gabriel looked nervous as she told me the chef threw it out. She kept apologizing. I wasn't mad at her but there was no offer to remake, refund, or give a dessert or something in place of it. Basically, I lost 1/3 of my chicken and nothing was done to rectify it. I have absolutely no plans on coming back to this establishment. Put a bitter taste in my mouth. You pay $37 for a meal and the chef throws the leftovers...
