As a doordash staff member , the location at 93 robie street has the most horrible service. I speak for all the doordash staff in this town when i say this. This has been going on since they renovated in approximately 2020. They will not greet you at the delivery counter of the resteraunt . I wait paitently for 5 to 10 minutes at the first delivery counter before going inside to the next counter to let someone know I have arrived and which order number i am there for. They ignore you every single time. Sometimes you can see the food with the correct order number on the bag. Sitting not packaged for delivery but with the correct order number on the bag . They will not awknoloege you or pass you the food that's ready to be delivered. This is a food saftey issue because the food is sitting not in a hot holding situation being kept to temperature . So the doordash delivery driver has to deliver unsafe food more often than not , if they ever do pass you the food. This in turn makes us look bad, gets us a poor rating, in turn we could loose our job if the customer rates us badly too many times. It's an ongoing issue with the 93 robie street location, bad service not greeting the dorrdash driver. Not taking it seriously to prepare and package the order for the waiting delivery driver. We are not allowed to help ourself to the order if it's ready and sitting in plain view with the correct order code on it. They need to pass it to you and confirm that you've picked it up. I've been cling the head office for the last 3 weeks trying to get this problem corrected. I've worked for other delivery companies in the last 4 years , and this is an ongoing problem with this location only. (93 robie street truro Ns. ) the other two macdonalds locations at 140 wade road and 624 pictou road have no service issues greeting you. Asking your order nunber , making and packaging the order and passing it to you promptly. So there shouldn't be such an issue at this other location. Frankly this store is the only store that really needs to be reviewed and corrected before someone gets sick from improper food handling .

I didn’t want to be embarrassed so during this visit i asked the manager at the window if I could cash them all on my next visit or if there was a limit. She responded she wasn’t to sure but either way “do separate orders to use a few” I said “well I have 6-10 of them I might want to get at once so can you check” she left me sitting there a few moments and responded there is no limit.
Today 10/13 I came through and used 3 cheese burger, 1 med fry and 1 apple pie. I didn’t want to be that guy so I purchased a med coke and a med coffee. I told the lady I was cashing my cupons for everything besides the pop and coffee she told me they would adjust the price at window. When arriving at window I was told “we can only accept two” I said “ No I double checked with two managers on this and I want to use them” she responded “I am not able too” I told her I plan to complain and described the lady who had gone great lengths to get the this answer the previous day. After going back and forth and pleading the common sense of my story the manager said ok I’ll do it. I thanked her and she said to me “it’s just because your fighting with me” I said “ I am not fighting with you I am doing as I was told and I am very embarrassed right now” she said “I am a manager and I am not wrong, I am not allowed to do this” as of to make me feel I was doing something wrong
Main point , mistakes are made I wished her a happy thanks giving and thanks for doing the right thing but if you can do something why make someone feel like crap about it to do it in the end. She witnessed what I went through and how embarrassed I was and I just feel if you’re going to do something why drag your heels. It’s a contest they can take them they clearly had a customer who was given bad info it wasn’t a huge purchase I was buying additional items , there was no reason to make me feel stupid. Oh and when I asked for bbq sauce for my fries “I normally charge for this but I will allow you to have one “ lol!!!!!!

Detailed review- I went to Truro from Moncton for some urgent work and had very limited time to reach back to Moncton. I had set aside 15-20 mins for having some snacks. Drive through line up was big. I ordered 2 McMuffins with extra egg on each and categorically told not to add bacon or any meat as I don’t eat meat due to my religious beliefs and personal dislike.
When I turned up at the window, I was asked to pull forward and wait at another window as food was getting prepared. Fair. I pulled forward and waited for 15 mins. Finally my patience ran thin and I went inside. They gave me ONE McMuffin. Took another 5 mins to prepare second one. No apologies.
I went to my car and checked if they prepared it the way I asked. And I saw BACON!! Are you serious?? I went back to store. Asked for manager on duty. BETTY LEE came forward and introduced herself as manager on duty. I explained the whole thing. She showed me the order slip and said well, that’s how order was TAKEN. it’s the fault of the person who took order. Wait what? Yeah someone made mistake. And YOU have to own it because you are paid to be a manager. She said “come this side, I will refund you and you can leave!”
I was so surprised at her attitude. In stead of understanding the situation and being apologetic about the inconvenience due to their mess up, I was asked to take my money and leave. I told her that I will ensure that this gets heard. She said yeah go ahead. She basically doesn’t care.
Betty Lee doesn’t represent McDonalds values very well. She doesn’t know what customer service is. May be it’s time for the owner of this franchise store to do some self reflection based on consistent negative reviews and take action.
