Update from Jan 2025 - business is STILL the same lol its so funny. Here's a suggestion - stop giving people the false hope or illusion that we can use the 10% coupon however we like. Once again, came for dinner, ordered a combo with another add on that's a-la-carte at regular price. The excuse was "tax break" and that the a-la-carte item won't allow us to use the coupon either. We argued that we should at least be able to use it towards a non-combo item but was told a lame excuse. Since we got the coupon we've been told no no no every single time and never got the chance to use it. So why are you giving people coupons/or VIP card or whatever you call it when we can't even use it? And do you guys even care if people come back to you? Because clearly you don't lol. When asked what we can use it for, we were given such a generic response "dishes". Like c'mon, do better and don't treat people like they are stupid. Last post I got a comment saying "we will improve". Screw that lol again we aren't stupid. Thank you.
Came for dinner, there was a minor hiccup which our family understood. we are humans we all make mistakes and it was rectified by staff right away. appreciated how they handled it and overall the staff was nice and attentive regardless. food was good except the portion size did not align with the pricing point. When paying for the dinner, they gave us $15 cash coupons to use. Then when I proceeded to pay with my credit card, staff mentioned if I pay with credit card they cannot give us the coupons to use for next time. I find that very weird because we weren't using the coupons to pay for the dinner that night of. They could've asked how we are paying PRIOR to decide whether to give out coupons, you don't just give and tell us there are conditions/restrictions AFTER you see us paying with credit cards. It was very awkward.
We decided to give back the coupons as we were prepared to pay with credit card from the beginning. I even called ahead and asked if they take credit cards and they said yes. I still left the standard tips regardless and didn't mind it especially when they fixed the mistake smoothly. How they ended the dinner experience though with the coupon thing has made us re-think whether we should return. There are many options in the area and we really don't have to come back lol. We aren't the type who like to cause a scene in public, so honestly we don't care about coupons. Our meal was with tips close to $200, what else do you have to lose by giving $15 worth of coupon especially after the experience that we had? If I was the staff, I would've made an exception to win a customer over, by allowing us to keep the coupons AND to pay with credit cards, especially after the experience we had. We are NOT at all upset about the coupons here. It's more like how you guys decide to do business and how you are handling a...

Food is hit and miss. Oysters, eels and lobsters (always fried tho) are usually good, but not peking duck and the sweet and sour pork/chicken are only fried batter, barely any meat... We see the other table got a normal size peking duck but ours has been dried and like shrink, twice in a row... once was even served at room temperature and it was not the one on promo as they didn't honour it on weekend (fri).
However, since the reopening from the lockdown, we realized hygienic problems here.
Our server was wearing her mask but continuously removing it on purpose every time she came to our table and when she spoke to us talking on top of our food nonstop. What is the purpose of the mask if she removed it every single time when she's talking to us? And she was way too engaged, kept moving our things around unnecessarily which of course involve touching our cutleries etc. We were a larger group but she kept on coming to interrupt, not to check if all was good but to talk and move our things nonstop. It's like they don't have enough dishes to use while the restaurant was only like 10% full. It was way too much to a point that was extremely annoying, being attentive and annoying are very different. They also spilled half of the soup/dessert when they were serving making messes everywhere. Note they did not provide extra bowls for soup like all other places do, so they just started pouring it to the bowl we were already using at each seat before we noticed and even we told them we would preferred to help ourselves, they insisted to spill them, very lousy.
We also saw their staff didn't wash their hands after going to the washroom. That's disgusting... we have reported it, hope they would think it's a problem and fix it... I doubt we will be going back tbh..
Also avoid it during busy days, we were there on cnye when it reopened, they were missing items on the set menu and just told us rudely they don't have time to make it and come back next time for it. No compensation, just kept saying come back next time for it. At least should simply offer to take off the same cost from the set? we had to argue/beg a few times to get it... just shocking...
Business is tough, we don't hope they run out of business. But they will need to fix their hygienic and staff issues to keep...

I booked a VIP table for 7 PM for my family. We arrived at 7:05 PM but had to wait until 7:50 PM to be seated. The restaurant was at capacity when we arrived at 7:05 pm and every table was either at the beginning of their meal or mid-way through. Despite repeatedly asking the staff why it was taking so long, they dismissively said it was "busy", and walked away while we were talking. The manager Yanie showed me the reservation/waitlist and said they had overbooked multiple groups for the same time slot. Poor planning on their part caused a nearly hour-long delay.
After asking for a goodwill discount for the inconvenience, the manager, Yanie and the lady at the cash register agreed to a 10% discount if paid in cash only. However, when the bill arrived, it did not have any discounts applied, when I pointed this out, Yanie questioned, “Oh, you still want that?” making it clear they hoped I wouldn’t notice the discrepancy, making it seem deceptive. She came back with a new bill but only 5% had been applied, even though the receipt misleadingly printed “10% Discount”. The subtotal was $348.20, and while the receipt listed "10% Discount" below the subtotal, the actual discount applied was only -$16.36, which equates to just 5%, not the promised 10%.
After the 5% discount, the total came out to be $331. 84, I paid $335 in cash due to the dishonesty and poor service. Yani then stopped me from leaving to confront me for around 5 minutes about the lack of a tip, claiming her boss would make her pay it out of pocket. She even tried to guilt me into tipping by physically placing her hand on my arm. Despite this, I stood firm, explaining that I couldn’t tip given the blatant dishonesty and unprofessional behaviour. The restaurant took an additional $16.36 by agreeing to a 10% discount but only applying 5%.
The entire experience, from the delayed seating to the deceptive billing and unprofessional attitude, ruined what was supposed to be a celebratory family dinner. I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone and advise others to be cautious of their...
