I’ve never left any bad reviews on google but today was pretty eye opening. Went with my friend today because of the 50% off deal, literally the first time here in Ajisen Toronto branch. I got there at 6:45 pm left my name and phone number at the cashier and was told that the wait time was 30-45 mins. The manager told me not the leave the restaurant but the wait time was long and I was waiting for my friend to park so I left the restaurant. Once my friend got here, I told him about the wait time and we walked to the plaza behind it for a walk to kill time. 20 mins later, we went back and I walked to the cashier to check the waitlist. The waitlist was gone so I asked the manager about it. He didn’t even check the list and he questioned me saying “Did I not tell you not to leave the place?” And gave me an attitude which left me very confused if I made a mistake here! I mean he did tell me not to leave the restaurant but the waitlist was long and he got my number so if anything he could call me. I did not see a problem why couldn’t I ask for the list as well. He then told me not to leave the restaurant and told me to wait at the door but my friend was still outside so I tried to go and grab him at the door. When I opened the door, the manager called me out across the room telling me not to leave, but I was just attempting to grab my friend. Plus after such super questionable hospitality, I didn’t even want to dine here. But my friend and I came here for the deal so we stayed. After we got our seat by the window, two ladies thought we cut the line and started whining in another language, not knowing I actually speak their language. I did not have to go through this entire experience if the manager had a better lining system (e.g. giving out number slips) But my point is, I didn’t come here for such service and experience. My friend and I ordered two noodles and three sides (takoyaki, karaage and pork cutlet). The cutlet was good but the ramen only lived up to its discounted price. I tried not to be biased here but I hope this review helps. I’m pretty sure I was not the only one who’s fed up by the service because while I was in line, a lady stomped out of the restaurant saying she didn’t even want to dine here anymore (but I had no clue what happened there). And another lady talked to me telling me how the manager asked for her number but also explained how he wasn’t going to call when the table was ready, which made me confused again while I was in line. I think this place needs a better managing system here. The other young female Cantonese waitress was really nice though. She is the only person who’s actually providing good...

Ajisen Ramen is a gem for anyone seeking an exceptional ramen experience. Located conveniently in the bustling heart of the city, this ramen haven offers not only delectable dishes but also top-notch service that keeps you coming back for more.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff are incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that your dining experience is smooth and enjoyable from start to finish. Their knowledge of the menu and willingness to make recommendations truly enhance the overall experience.

The food at Ajisen Ramen is nothing short of spectacular. I opted for the classic Ajisen Ramen, and it exceeded my expectations. The broth was rich and flavorful, simmered to perfection with a depth that only comes from hours of careful preparation. The noodles were perfectly al dente, with just the right amount of bite, complementing the broth beautifully.

The toppings were fresh and plentiful. The tender slices of chashu pork melted in your mouth, and the soft-boiled egg, marinated to perfection, added a wonderful richness to the dish. The addition of bamboo shoots, green onions, and a hint of garlic oil provided a delightful mix of textures and flavors.

Ajisen Ramen also offers a variety of other dishes that are equally impressive. The gyoza were crisp and juicy, and the takoyaki had a perfect balance of crispiness on the outside and a tender, flavorful interior.

Overall, Ajisen Ramen delivers an exceptional dining experience. The combination of outstanding food and stellar service makes it a must-visit for ramen lovers and anyone seeking a memorable meal. Whether you're a seasoned ramen aficionado or a first-time visitor, Ajisen Ramen promises a delightful culinary journey that will leave you...

I’ve been going to this Ajisen location for years and never had an issue. I went there today and considering it’s during covid they’re a lot less busier than pre-covid. I managed to get a table right away, and even got my order taken quickly. I went with 1 other person and they received their food almost immediately after ordering, and I waited patiently for mine. I had ordered an Ajisen Spicy ramen and steak appetizer. They brought out the steak and I waited for the ramen so I could eat them together...it did not come out at all and when I finally asked them what happened to my ramen order, BOTH waitresses went to ask the Kitchen and NEITHER gave me a reply to my question. I had waited a total of 30 minutes for my ramen to be brought out. I was obviously upset about this as I’ve known the place to have great customer service especially when the owner was there. Today was the absolute worst I’ve experienced. Finally when getting the bill, I looked at it and it looked so sketchy, there was items (that we never ordered) added and then removed multiple times on the bill and when I asked the waitress she just stumbled on her words and gave me no answer. I expected atleast one of the apps to be free or atleast an apology or something. Nothing. I GOT NOTHING. I’m not one to make a big deal out of small things but the experience I got today has left me not wanting to go back to this location ever again.

TLDR: In my eyes, I made the order correctly, the waitress repeated the ordered back, then messed up actually putting the order through and didn’t even own up to it or try to compensate for it, handed me a sketchy looking bill and had no explanation as to why it looked like that. If she was new then sure that’s understandable...

Usually the FOOD in a restaurant has to be good for a 5 * rating, but for us , Courtesy & Customer service is numero uno on our list for a restaurant to be a great place to be at! Think about it - if the service is not good, would you really enjoy even the best meal? :) The first time, my wife & I went to Ajisen Ramen over a month ago and the staff & manager were extremely courteous, polite & welcoming and we were just decided to stay & enjoy a great Friday night dinner ( I say this because we have walked out of places where the service has been lousy, even if the prices are great). A couple of weeks later, and it was around 10:30pm, we returned to Ajisen Ramen with our son (he loves Ramen) who was insisting on McDonald's, but we told him we had a surprise for him. When we parked, he refused to get out of the car saying he didn't want Asian food, but when he saw the Ajisen Ramen, his mouth started watering & when his order arrived, he quickly put away the cell phone & dived straight in, enjoying every morsel of it. This time we ordered the Spicy Chicken Ramen, Beef Ramen & I can't remember exactly what we ordered, but it was delicious & well worth the price. At the time of taking the order, the server made it a point to inform us that the dishes we were ordering are cooked in Pork soup & askedif we were fine with it. (We eat all cuisines). Ajisen Ramen stands out in a class of its own for its Courtesy, Welcoming staff, Delicious menu & pricing and Great ambience with tasteful decor! I highly recommend Ajisen Ramen for Ramen lovers, and for those who are not Ramen lovers, like myself, I can assure you that once you've been to Ajisen, you will fall in love with Ramen! ..oh! And did I mention that they are open till midnight? 😀

I recently came back on a late thursday night with a friend after a session of badminton. It was one of the only places around that was still open. I was initially reluctant because my previous experiences at this resto made me think that Ajisen as a franchise was just ok overall. Steak teppanyaki: Was actually cooked medium rare! The end pieces were still a lil tough due to the cut and quality of the beef prolly not being the greatest but it was juicy and I got my protein in. Black garlic tender pork ribs ramen: So you can change your broth at Ajisen which is pretty cool. This was supposed to come w/ the original broth but I asked to swap for black garlic tonkotsu broth. The noodles were surprisingly firmer compared to my previous visits and the broth actually came out piping hot as opposed to lukewarm. Idk if they just hired new/better chefs in the back or if late night is when they serve the best grub. Either way, I received significantly better food than the last couple times I visited this place way back. The other thing I really liked was the tableside fried garlic that you could top up your bowl with. I literally unscrewed the lid and emptied out a third of the fried garlics into my bowl. SOOO GOOD. Although it was an improved experience, I still don't think the ramen is better than an authentic ramen spot. For that, I award 3.5 stars.
