Bao Express is more of a casual takeout-style spot or quick eatery — not really a place to sit and linger. I’ve been there a few times, and I usually order their Hunan-style noodles, especially the one with sour long beans or the farmhouse stir-fried pork (农家小炒肉) noodles. Those dishes are honestly quite good — flavorful, satisfying, and make for a solid lunch.

However, I strongly do not recommend their 煎饼果子 (Chinese savory crepe). I’ve had 煎饼果子 from many places, and theirs was by far the most disappointing. The texture and flavor just weren’t there — I wouldn't order it again.

They also serve baozi (steamed buns) and dumplings, which are decent — nothing amazing, but enjoyable enough. If you're stopping by for a quick bite, the buns and noodles are your best bet.

A few other notes:

The seating is uncomfortable — very basic and not designed for dining in. It feels like a “eat and go” setup.

Great for a quick lunch, especially if you’re craving something warm and flavorful.

Here’s my breakdown:

Noodles: 4 to 4.5 stars

Bun/dumplings: 3 to 4 stars

煎饼果子: 1 star at best — would not recommend

Overall: I’d give the place a 3 out of 5. It really depends on what you order.

Stick to the noodles and buns, and skip the jianbing — and you’ll likely...

I love the food, atmosphere and service at Bao Express. I drove from Brampton to Markham with my daughter on a Saturday just to experience the delicious food. We ordered beef noodle soup, pan fried juicy pork dumplings (special) and juicy pork dumplings. They provide hot lemon water and the server was always so attentive. You can pay by cash or debit only but with cash payment you get 10% off your entire order. I would highly recommend this lovely place to anyone who enjoys a nice juicy and tasty dumpling. The pan fried dumpling is my favourite with the crispy and juicy textures combined. You have to check it out the food is deeeelish!! The price was reasonable for 2 soups and 2 appetizers we paid $36. Not bad for a great meal for 2! And we had leftovers!!

Update April 14/24-we came back again for more of our yummy food! Looove Bao Express they have great service and good food. We will keep coming back and making the drive to Markham!! This time we had juicy pork dumplings both steamed and pan fried!...

Bao Express is my go-to spot for a delightful traditional Chinese breakfast. The steamed buns, or bao, are simply exceptional—soft, fluffy, and filled with various delicious options. From classic pork to innovative combinations, each bao bursts with flavor. The soy milk and savory congee complement the meal perfectly, providing a genuine taste of Chinese breakfast traditions. The menu is diverse, offering a range of choices to satisfy different preferences. The service is prompt and friendly, adding to the overall positive experience. If you're a fan of authentic Chinese breakfast fare, Bao Express is a must-visit. It consistently delivers on taste, quality, and a genuine breakfast experience. Highly...
