Milano's Grill — Restaurant in Markham

Went here the other day to pick up some late lunch. Saw others' pictures of the walk-in specials, so I figured I'd try a philly cheesesteak, chicken cutlet on a bun, and Greek Fries. I expected this to be like some of the other Greek diner type places - general good value, decent food quality, etc.

The Philly steak was good, reasonably priced, but nothing stood out that made me feel it was good. Maybe if they did a slight twist on the sauce they put on it or something. The bun they use is nice and soft, but like most other similar sandwiches, it ends up being drenched due to the moisture released when the beef's cooking with the veggies.

The Chicken Cutlet was slightly sub par, but for a reason I wasn't expecting - it was just over seasoned. The size of the cutlet was good, and though it could've been a bit saucier (like what you might want from a good veal parm sandwich) it was quite tasty. But the over seasoned breading just made it too strong - in sandwich form it wasn't balanced. I think if I had the same piece of meat with some rice and potatoes, or a side of mash and some gravy, it probably would've balanced better.

The Greek Fries were fine, nothing stand out/better about fries, though like some other Greek diners in the area, I'd probably have preferred the fries a bit more cooked/crispy (maybe ask for them well done). When I was watching them make it, I was thinking they put a lot of the Greek salad dressing on the fries, but it worked well.

Service was friendly, the place was clean, they take credit card, and there's parking. The time I went, it was pretty empty, so I had my order in my hands quickly. I'd go back to try the burger just to see if they do anything different there, or the burger patty they use. Value was ok, but could've been...

I am not quite sure where to begin but the entire team at Milanos definitely deserves a huge round of applause. My colleagues and I frequent this awesome spot for lunch at least 2-3 times a week for a number of reasons....

Service, Service, Service !!!! Every time we visit we're greeted with great big smiles and welcomed by name. The whole gang is really focused on making every customer experience a great one.

Quality and Selection : Milanos has such a wide variety of healthy, delicious options one simply could never grow tired of. The menu is able to satisfy even the most picky of eaters and traditional favourite like the soulvaki meal, gyro and Philly cheese are textbook!

Cleanliness : I simply cannot stress this enough but Farsy, Siva, Kevin & Shannon are ALWAYS cleaning and making sure everything is immaculately kept for their next guests.

Speed of Operation: Farsy is to commended, Milanos functions like a well oiled machine even at the busiest of times. Quick, easy, home style cooking served at your convenience.

Consistency: Top notch all the time, no sloppy or off days... just great food everyday.
