This abomination of a so-called "restaurant" deserves every ounce of disdain and revulsion one can muster. Prepare for a tale of unparalleled incompetence and abysmal service. We naively placed our order, foolishly believing that our hunger would be promptly satiated. Little did we know that we were about to embark on a torturous half-hour wait, while the oblivious waitress shamelessly catered to the needs of newly arrived patrons, serving their meals with unwarranted haste.
Oh, the irony of our chosen dish—the pork bone soup—a dish supposedly pre-prepared for efficiency's sake. Yet, despite this apparent advantage, we found ourselves in an infuriating state of neglect, as the imbecilic waitress prioritized the fresh arrivals, allowing them to revel in their completed meals while we stared at empty plates. The audacity!
And let us not forget the utter disregard for basic hospitality. Our hunger was met with disdain as the appetizers, promised by the menu's false allure, were cruelly withheld from our famished grasp. It was as if we were invisible, unwanted beings in a desolate wasteland of gastronomic despair.
In the face of such despicable treatment, we had no choice but to abandon this wretched establishment, abandoning our hopes for a satisfactory dining experience. I implore you, dear reader, to take heed of this cautionary tale and steer clear of this den of incompetence masquerading as a restaurant. Spare yourself the agony, the frustration, and the heartache that await those foolish enough to venture within the suffocating confines of this pitiful excuse...
Read moreUpdated Review in 2024 While i originally noted I will never return to this place in my lifetime, as fate would have it, I gave their Kalbi Tang another shot after I was told owner “might” have change. This time, things made A LOT more sense. As such, I wanted to update this review as I don’t think what I was previously wrote would be a fair assessment of this restaurant anymore.
Overall - 4.5/5 Meat was good AND plentiful (6 kalbi to be exact, more than the typical 4 that I see) Value proposition is high for the amount of food! Soup could taste richer, but is not a deal breaker! comes with plenty of side dishes it’s been a couple of hours since I ate and I still feel full!
Nothing to complain anymore - great job redeeming yourself Mom’s kitchen!
Original Review in 2021 (one star) Ordered take out here today. This place hands down has THE worst Kalbi tang dish I ever taste. Specifically,
There is zero chance I will return to eat here ever in...
Read moreI was feeling a bit under the weather and craving something soupy so I decided to give this place a try. Right off the bat, the server was very nice and welcoming and despite being the only one on the floor (with occasional help from someone else in back of the house), she was very quick, efficient and had a pleasant attitude the entire time.
Ordered the spicy pork soon tofu soup and spicy pork bibimbap off the lunch menu which comes with a free miso soup. The prices from the lunch special menu don’t vary too much from the main menu though and everything was fairly priced.
The tofu soup was quite spicy and very hot but cleared my sinuses right up and was very flavourful. Exactly what I wanted. The ground pork was also nice and tender and had a slight sweetness that offset the spice. It comes with purple rice which I enjoyed.
Bibimbap was piping hot and the bowl was still steaming even after my boyfriend had finished all of the food in the bowl so it stayed hot throughout the entire meal. Rice base is purple as well. It was very flavourful, had lots of umami and comes with hot sauce if you want to add more.
Portions were also very good, the bibimbap was huge and I had enough leftovers from the soup to eat it for another meal.
I will definitely be returning to try their other menu items. Overall, total came to $30 before tip for two people which is a...
