Very disappointing experience everytime I come here. No class or quality customer service. I am a Uber eats delivery driver with over 22,000 deliveries since 2019 working full time. I have a 💯 percent rating and I have never received a bad review from a restaurant until I received one from this restaurant. I picked up 2 orders from 2 different restaurants before arriving at this restaurant to pick up the 3rd order. As you can see I have plenty of experience as a delivery driver so when I arrived I confirmed with the restaurant that I would have to wait 7-10 minutes. No problem. I also waited outside the restaurant so not to interfere with anyone inside specifically the customers. I came back inside 12 minutes later and was told by a inconsiderate man that there was a further delay of 10 minutes. I agreed under the condition that it would be no more than 10 minutes because I have 2 other orders sitting in my car for customers who are now being delayed there food. I have the option of not picking up the order so that the orders I have will be delivered on time plus another driver can come here and pick up the order once it's ready. That's called responsible and respectful way of doing business. Under no circumstances can you make a delivery driver wait for 30-40 minutes. It's professional and polite to let the driver know how a long it will take for the food to ready. In this case I have 2 orders and the restaurant has now made me 25 minutes. When I came back in the 3rd time the man said that the food was still not ready and would take another 10-15 minutes. I responded to this man not with foul language or abuse but instead to let him know that what he did was disrespectful not only to me for wasting over 30 minutes of my time but 2 other customers who now will receive their food much later than expected. Drivers also don't get by the hour. I wasted over an hour for $11 dollars because of this restaurant and this individual. And yes sometimes these things happen but with communication if an order is not ready let the driver know long and they can decide whether to wait or not. You can't lie and waste 30-40 minutes of a drivers time especially when you have 2 other orders. In the end this wasn't the first time of abuse by this restaurant to me and other drivers. I've delivered so many times for restaurants in this Plaza but never experienced pure abuse and racism like this restaurant. Because I am not Asian I was treated poorly and bypassed by the employees. It was a terrible experience which I never hope to experience again. I will never deliver for this restaurant again and will let everyone I know to never come to this place. Total racist restaurant. If you are not Asian and more specifically Chinese do not bother to come here. You will treated as an outsider. And don't believe this is sour grapes. I am the most respected uber eats driver in city especially markham and Richmond Hill. My record speaks for itself. I take pride in what I do so I was astonished when I received a bad review from a restaurant that wasted about 40 minutes of my time and was...

Came with my friends for dinner on a saturday.

Super busy when we arrived. Luckily we had a reservation for 10 ppl. Parking lot is crazy as this resto is next to Big Beef Bowl in New Kennedy Square.

Everything tasted quite good (and quite affordable as well)!

Pork buns (braised and regular): My group ordered both. Both super tasty but the braised one definitely wins imo. More flavour and more seasoning.

Steamed chicken in chilli sauce: The chicken was tender but the chilli sauce was quite mild. I think they could've amped up the spice a bit more. Fortunately, there's extra chilli oil at the tables so you can up the spice yourself!

Pork dumplings (boiled chive and pan-fried regular): Normally I would vote for the pan-fried option, but suprisingly, I think I preferred the boiled chive variant. The pan-fried dumplings were a lil bit overly crunchy on the exterior lol.

Soup dumplings: The XLB were tasty. Definitely not the best I've had. I wish there was more soup inside each dumpling but flavour was on point and the skin was thin.

Deep fried milk and tofu skewers: Absolutely no complaints here. Very solid appetizers. The best tofu skewers I've had still belong to Magic Noodle but the deep fried milk was delicious!

Scallion pancakes, chive pie and red bean cake: The red bean cake I was impartial to (it didn't really taste much of anything). The scallion pancake was passable (the outside was over fried so it dried out the dough a little bit). My fave was definitely the chive pie. Ample filling and the exterior was the perfect amount of crispiness.

Noodle soup (classic and braised beef): I didn't get a chance to try the classic as we weren't able to portion it out amongst us well enough but the braised beef noodle soup gets a thumbs up from me. 2 of my friends thought the beef was too lean but I was actually ok w/ it (yea the beef chunks could've been fattier). I thought it was a good bowl of noodles because the noodles were very firm, broth was layered and they gave a very decent amount of meat. A lot places give you a mound of noodles and skimp out on the meat.

Wings (honey garlic, magic chilli, spicy): We ordered honey garlic because it's usually a "safe" option for the peeps who can't do spicy. Surprisingly, it didn't beat out the spicy or magic chilli flavours. The spicy is not actually spicy. They throw some dry togarashi spice on top of the chicken and so it's actually just like a spicy dust (tasted good though). The magic chilli was arguably the best flavour. It was very unique. The honey garlic needed more sauce for sure.

Mango sago: Yo, the sago was actually underrated. I thought this sago was dessert shop level tbh. Very honestly surprised at how good it was.

It's funny, while the namesake buns were good, I think I liked the dumplings, appetizers and noodle soups more. The bread was soft and moist but I prefer a higher meat to bread ratio in my buns (just a personal preference).

Solid resto. Will definitely be back with friends more often. Those wait...

The restaurant is on the side of the plaza that faces Kennedy and is very close to Mr. Congee.

We arrived around 730pm on a Thursday night and the place was packed. We were given a number for our party of 4 and waited about 20min to be seated. It’s was slightly less busy after 830pm so if you don’t want to wait come later.

The interior is bright. Seats are fairly comfortable but the bench seats along the wall were better. Heads up, I heard the waiter tell another family with young kids that there are no high chairs provided so be sure to bring your own.

Decent size menu. Service is so so but dishes come out quick once you order which is in line with expectations for these types of restaurants.

Being our first time, we ordered a variety of dishes.

A01 酱香老娘水煎包4pc $7.99 Savoury Pan-Fried Pork Bun Good flavour and crispy

A02鲜肉老娘水煎包4pc $7.99 Juicy Pan-Fried Pork Bun Small amount of meat filling. Somewhat juicy.

A03老娘小笼汤包6pc $5.99 Mom's Special Steamed Soup Dumpling Meat filling is pink. Not sure if it was fully cooked. Skin is too thick. Not a lot of soup inside the dumpling.

C02甜豆花 $2.99 Sweet Tofu Pudding Good texture but not enough sauce/sweet liquid

B04 脆皮炸鲜奶 $5.99 Crispy Fried Milk Custard Crunchy breading that’s not too thick. Tasty creamy inside.

EO1迷你小油条1pc $1.99 Mini Dough Stick Not great. Chewy stale texture instead of light and crispy.

E05 葱油饼 $2.99 Chinese Scallion Pancake No taste. Very doughy. Don’t recommend.

E08 豆沙饼 $3.50 Red Bean Cake Again very doughy texture. Don’t recommend.

E1O 西关肉夹馍 $4.99 Xi Guan Pork Chinese Burger Ok but on the salty side

F02 洋葱奶酪味 6pc $6.99 Fried Chicken Wings Onion Cheese Flavour Not good. Breading is too hard. Meat is dry and there is no cheese flavour at all. Not like onion and ranch dressing.

F08 甜辣酱味 6pc $6.99 Fried chicken wings Sweet Chili Flavour Did not care for this flavour. Again Breading is too hard and Meat is dry

11 dishes for $66 plus tip is a good price but you get what you pay for. The pan fried buns are decent but I’ve had better. All the other dishes were mediocre.

Wanted to try this place because we heard good things and we love pan fried buns and soup filled dumplings but unfortunately it didn’t live up to...

I've been meaning to try this place for some time now and happened to be in the plaza on a Thursday around 6 pm. When we walked in, we were the first group on a waitlist for a table as the place was completely full, but then I was shocked to see how quickly this line piled up! This spot was insanely busy, even on a random weekday night. Not to mention, there was a steady flow of people ordering takeout/Ubereats. We ended up waiting for about 10 minutes for a table which wasn't bad at all considering how many were lined up after us. They have a QR code for people to scan to join the waitlist. The place feels spacious with high ceilings and a bright atmosphere. The seating wasn't the most comfortable in my opinion just because of the bench to table height ratio, but not terrible by any means. The place also looked clean at a glance. Their menu was easily viewable via QR code and this is how you order as well. After seeing their prices in reference to their portions, I can see why it's so busy. It's quite an affordable choice for eating out in this economy. We ended up ordering four dishes to share, including: 1. Braised Pork Pan-Fried Buns which were one of my favorites. Admittedly the meat in the middle was kind of small compared to the bun (refer to my photo), but this came out piping hot, perfectly pan fried with a crisp exterior, and so much juice inside! The flavor was spot on. 2. Pork Intestines in Garlic Sauce which is not for everyone but I absolutely love dishes like these. Unfortunately it did have a slight odor to taste but dipping it into the sauce helped to cover that. It's very flavorful and had an amazing chew. I was pleased with the size of this dish, as many other places serve only a fraction that they do here. 3. Beef pie had a nice crisp to it and flavorful meat as well. 4. Classic Beef Noodle Soup was a very economic choice. For $10, this was a really good portion of both carbs and protein. Overall, service was quite friendly and food came out steamy and hot. Things do tend to come out one at a time which works well if you're sharing so that you can enjoy things fresh, but it is difficult if you're coming as a group and ordering your own dishes each.
