Banh Mi Saigon — Restaurant in Mississauga

As far as old school banh mi shops go this one is the best. I've grown up trying most of the banh mi shops. Their bread is baked in house every morning. Their bread also has a greater crust to interior bread ratio so the flaky and crunchy texture is better than other shops I have been to. I also find that their mayo and patê blend is superior to the rest. They're good enough that they can sell out by the afternoon on the weekends. I often order their vegan sandwich option as well - make sure to request no mayo because they will add it and make it vegetarian unless you specify. If you bring it home to eat later or the next day, I suggest removing the veggies then giving it a toast in the toaster oven just for a few minutes. Re-add the veggies after you're done...

I tried this place a few days ago for the first time based on the high rated google reviews and also having a craving for some viet style sandwiches. Before ordering I asked if they accepted interac, and they said they did so I proceeded by ordering 3 assorted sandwiches. I proceeded to pay and the interac machine was down. I tried a couple of times as I didn’t bring cash but the machine wouldn’t work. The man working at store gave me the 3 sandwiches and told me to come back another day to pay. I was surprised and came back the next day to pay for the sandwiches and order another couple of sandwiches. The sandwiches were great. The bread was soft and the overall sandwich taste was great. So delightfully surprised on how fresh, and portioned everything was for each Bahn Mi!

We knew the second we walked in that things were going to be good. The counter was lain I’m ready to go Bahn Mi Buns. An assortment of Viet snacks, goodies and ingredients. The best part? Hardly in English. That’s when you know you’ve hit a good spot.

Our order included the Assorted, Chicken Roti, Meatball, BBQ Pork, and the Vietnamese Sausage. All ingredients were fresh with generous portions, and the bun itself was so fluffy and flaky. It was like it was toasted to perfection. Insane!

The best part of all is that $5 sandwich price tag and to think we were going to go to our usual spot instead.
